NHL Puck Drop 2/6 “Danger Edition”

by Jonny Danger

GOALIE
For Goalie I am looking for a team that has a good chance at the victory and a decent chance at getting 35 shots on goal for that DK Bonus. If your guy gives up 2-3 goals and loses but stops 36 shots… you actually are further ahead than a 2-0 victory only stopping 20 shots. (ALWAYS CHECK GOALIE CONFIRMED STATUS BEFORE LOCK)

Favorite Goalies to get the WIN and 35 saves or a shutout:

Miko Koskinen $7400 – EDM I like this play here even though it’s a pretty high projected game total. I don’t see a shutout happening but I like the Oilers to win and Calgary bench is very deep and should keep pressure on, meaning a bunch of shot opportunities. I really like the EDM #1 defenseman unit though and think they will keep the game in check enough to get McDavid and gang the win

Other Options:
Andersen TOR $8400 (CASH)
Jarry PIT $7200 (GPP)

STACKS
Finding the right priced stacks is the key to all NHL DFS. Correlation is imperative. You need to know who skates on the same lines and especially look to see who is on the same power play lines. Target fast paced teams in high scoring opportunities. Stack preference to guys on the 1st and 2nd lines that play together on the same Power Play Unit.

My Favorites today:
TOR/VAN – It’s no surprise I like the highest team total on the board as I am mostly a cash player. Load up on Marner and Matthews and mix and match their other spots. I like the VAN run back too as Miller and Boeser have been continually under priced.

Matthews/Marner/Reilly – CASH
Matthews/Marner/Boeser – CASH w/ Run Back
Matthews/Simmons/Reilly – GPP Pivot
Miller/Boeser/Patterson – CASH
Miller/Boeser – CASH Mini Stack
Horvat/Pearson/Hughes – GPP

EDM/CGY This is the other obvious game but ya know what? Not that many options tonight and I’m not huge on the offenses in the other games outside of the Canadian clubs. I’ll keep the other games for one-offs and count on the chalk tonight, but if you want to get strange in a gpp stack the other ones.

McDavid/Nugent-Hopkins/Barrie CASH
McDavid/Nugent-Hopkins/Draisaitl GPP
Draisaitl/Kahun/Puljujarvi – GPP
Tkachuk/Lindholm/Monahan – CASH
Tkachuk/Monahan – GPP Mini stack

In the end I really only like Cash tonight but if you want to pivot there are plenty of plays.

Individual Value Plays by Position:

Center
Malkin – PIT $5,800
Monahan – CGY $5,300
Nelson – NYI $4,500
Kerfoot – TOR $3,00

Winger
Hyman – TOR $4,700
Puljujarvi – EDM $4,500
Pearson – VAN $3,700
Dube – CGY $3,000

Defenseman
Schmidt – VAN $3,900
Brodie – TOR $3,500
Dobson – NYI $4,500
Myers – VAN $4,300
