Happy Tuesday, Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB.
Week 4 is approaching with a TNF matchup between the 2-1 Seahawks and the 2-1 Cardinals. Arizona is currently favored by 1.5 points with an over/under point total of 43.5.
Fantasy football is underway, so it is time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy post season greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here is another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.
Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Go get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off of waivers.
TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK
Trey Benson – Arizona Cardinals
Trey Benson went into week 3 as James Connor’s backup and finished week 1 as RB1 for Arizona moving forward. Connor suffered a season ending injury and that leaves the Cardinals backfield to Benson and Demarcado. If Benson can continue to average almost 6 yards per carry this season and continue to catch his targets, he could be immensely beneficial to your fantasy team.
Quarterbacks
Sam Darnold – Seattle Seahawks
Darnold has turned a corner after a bad week 1 when he could not score in anyway on the 49ers defense. Since then, he has 4 passing TDs and an average of 256 passing yards in his last 2 games. Darnold will not see a top tier defense until week 11 when he faces the Rams. Until then he has middle of the pack defenses. Sam’s chemistry with Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been electric.
Running Backs
Trey Benson – Arizona Cardinals

Ollie Gordon – Miami Dolphins
Ollie Gordon saw his first game with more than 2 carries. He finished with 9 carries for 38 rushing yards and found the end zone for his first NFL TD. Gordon will continue to be behind Achane on the depth chart but seems to be gaining some ground and belief in his teammates and coaches. If Achane were to miss time Ollie would be a must add.
Wide Receivers
Tre Tucker – Las Vegas Raiders
Have a week Tre Tucker. Not only did he have 145 yards receiving which is by far his career high, he also scored 3 receiving TDs which is also the most in a game in his 3-year career. Tucker may be 3rd on the team in targets and 2nd on the team in receiving yards, but he is the only pass catcher to catch a TD this season, and he has 4. Geno Smith is great or terrible, but no matter what he usually likes to air it out.
Sterling Shepard – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sterling Shepard has at least 4 targets each week, at least 3 receptions each week, and averages 51 yards receiving per game through 3 weeks. Mike Evan’s hurt his hamstring in week 3 which the severity is uncertain. Chris Godwin could make his first appearance this season in week 4, but that is also uncertain. What is certain is that Shepard is involved in the offense and Baker Mayfield has played superb.
Tight Ends
Hunter Henry – New England Patriots
Henry finally scored a TD in week 3 but did not stop at just 1. He scored 2 receiving TDs and led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. His 11 targets were more than double next best Demario Douglas who had 5. He has 8+ targets in 2 of his 3 games and 66+ receiving yards in 2 out of 3 games this season. 2 of the Patriots next 3 opponents are the Saints and the Panthers who both currently have soft defenses.
