Start/Sit Hub Week 8

Happy week 8 of the 2025 NFL season! Welcome back to my weekly Start/Sit Hub! Mike here, providing you with information that can help you win your fantasy league week in and week out.

Tomorrow’s TNF game is between the 3-3 Vikings and the 4-3 home team Chargers. LA is favored by 3.5 with a point total over/under of 44.5. Carson Wentz needs to shake off some of last week’s struggles while the Chargers look to get back on track after losing 3 of their last 4. My prediction is an upset victory for the Vikings by a score of 23-17.

I am here every week during the fantasy football season with start and sit suggestions that can impact your team each week. My decisions as always include obvious and not so obvious picks. I would also like to clarify that my sit suggestions are based on the assumption you have or can add a player that has a better chance at success. Good luck this week and continue to check out my weekly articles.

TNF START/SIT

Start – Jordan Addison – Jordan Addison has been thriving with Carson Wentz as his QB. Jefferson is obviously the must start WR here, but Addison has a great chance here to continue his streak of success. He is coming off his best yardage game this season when he caught 9 of 12 targets for 128 receiving yards. Chargers defense is good at defending WRs, but they might have their hands full with Jefferson.

Sit – Kimani Vidal – Vidal emerged as the RB1 for the Chargers until Hampton is able to return from injury. He is perfectly capable of going off in this game, but based off last week’s performance it leaves you wondering how consistent he will be. He had just 20 rushing yards last week and has a Vikings defense that is not at all bad against the run.

TNF has concluded with a blowout win for the Chargers over the Vikings by a score of 37-10. Wentz struggled all game long while Vidal and Herbert sailed quite smoothly. The TNF sit spot curse hits another with a solid Vidal performance. Chargers take on the Titans next, and the Vikings take on the Lions next. Next weeks TNF game is between the Ravens and the Dolphins.

BYE WEEK – CARDINALS, LIONS, JAGUARS, RAIDERS, RAMS, SEAHAWKS

Some of the games I am looking forward to most in week 8 are the Cowboys/Broncos, the Packers/Steelers, and the Bills/Panthers. Enjoy your football weekend and good luck!

START OF THE WEEK

Start – Patrick Mahomes – Mahomes is hitting his stride lately and gets a prime-time game against a Washington defense that does not scare anyone. Mahomes has 3 TDs and no INTs in each of his last 2 games and is licking his lips with Rashee Rice anticipating Monday Night.

Giants @ Eagles

Start – AJ Brown – AJ has been cryptic online leaving many wondering what is going on with him in Philly. If anything, that makes him more enticing to keep his needs met on the field. AJ has 8+ targets in every game after week 1 with exception of last week when he only needed 6 targets to have 4 receptions for 121 yards and 2 TDs.

Sit – Theo Johnson – Going with Theo Johnson based off matchup and how he only has 2 catches for 27 yards when they met just 2 weeks ago. Philly is top 3 in fantasy defending opposing TEs this season. I believe national TE Day is approaching so tread lightly.

Jets @ Bengals

Start – Chase Brown – Yes Ja’Marr is the clear play after 23 targets from Joe Flacco, and Flacco himself is a good play this week too. But I chose Brown because he finally had a good game last week and I think he can do so again against the Jets defense and take some of the pressure from Flacco. Can Chase Brown score for the first time since week 1?

Sit – Jets D/ST – The Jets are winless and have the Bengals in Cinci who looked reinvigorated last week with the help of Joe Flacco. Jets allow 26 points per game, and they could be without Sauce Gardner this week.

Bears @ Ravens

Start – D’Andre Swift – Pay attention to his status up until game time as he is questionable like he was last game but inevitably played and played great. The Bears getting back to their running game is great for Swift who has back-to-back 100+ yard rushing games and a TD in each of his last 3 games. Ravens defense is struggling, and Swift is going to want to outshine Derrick Henry.

Sit – DJ Moore – DJ has been okay this season but has just the 1 TD back in week 3 and he has not had 50 receiving yards since week 1. Rome Odunze has been the hotter hand of the Bears receivers, but he has not done much lately either. Bears have gone back to their running game it seems which only helps DJ if he gets more rushing attempts.

Dolphins @ Falcons

Start – Bijan Robinson – Yes this is an obvious pick, but it is such a great spot for Bijan. He has been playing fantastic for Atlanta and gets the Dolphins defense who is allowing almost 30 points per game and could not hit water if they fell out of a boat. Dowdle, Vidal, and Judkins have all destroyed Dolphins the last 3 games, so Bijan has next up.

Sit – Tua Tagovailoa – Tua has been bad. Real bad. 3 INT in each of his last 2 games and goes from a difficult Browns defense to another difficult defense in the Falcons. Tua lost Tyreek Hill and now Darren Waller.

Bills @ Panthers

Start – Rico Dowdle – Dowdle looked like the better RB last week even with Hubbard back in the backfield. Panthers are at home, get the Bills rush defense which has not impressed, and with Andy Dalton at the helm it might be a game of many handoffs. Keep riding Dowdle until the wheels come off.

Sit – Keon Coleman – Keon is arguably a top receiver on Buffalo; however, his stats have not been around what we all expected. Coleman has 4 or less receptions in every game since week 1 and has only exceeded 26 receiving yards twice this entire season having played 6 games so far.

49ers @ Texans

Start – George Kittle – Ok let’s try this again this week with Kittle. He loves to celebrate National TE Day, and you could tell he was not happy finishing last week without a reception. Whether it is Jones or Purdy, I expect Kittle to be more involved.

Sit – Nick Chubb – Woodie Marks is slowly but surely creeping in on Chubb for that RB1 spot. Chubb only has 5 carries in week 7 and the most rushing yards for him in a game this season is 61. Chubb also has not caught a pass for positive yardage since week 4. With Marks active I am going to avoid Chubb.

Browns @ Patriots

Start – Quinshon Judkins – The Browns are dedicated to feeding Judkins and rightly so. The rookie has made some defenses look silly and has 20+ carries in 3 of his last 4 games. 4 of his 6 appearances this season he had at least 82 rushing yards. Coming off a huge 3 TD game in week 7 I am expecting more of the same from the elusive newcomer.

Sit – TreVeyon Henderson – Hendersons huge preseason hype died almost as soon as the regular season started. He is coming off his worst game of the season carrying the ball just twice for 5 yards. I expected him to surpass Rhamondre Stevenson but that has yet to happen.

Buccaneers @ Saints

Start – Rachaad White – White only had 10 carries last game but that is also due to the Lions taking an early lead and not letting go against them in week 7. This week White will face a Saints defense that allows 26 points per game and just allowed both Chicago RBs to have solid performances. White can also hurt you in the pass game having caught 3+ passes in each of his last 4 games. Bucky Irving is not expected back until after their week 9 BYE.

Sit – Taysom Hill – You probably were not considering Tatum this week (or any week) and I am here to tell you that is valid. Hill is completely TD dependent not having the opportunities he has in seasons past. Hill has negative rushing yards this season.

Titans @ Colts

Start – Tyler Warren – Warren has adjusted to the NFL smoothly and has already become a top tier TE. Tyler has scored in each of his last 3 games and has been a reliable target for Daniel Jones. Warren should continue to excel on National TE Day.

Sit – Calvin Ridley – Calvin is Mr. Inconsistent and that is not ideal in fantasy. Other than a great week 5, Calvin has been unremarkable. He has 2 or less receptions in 3 of his last 4 games and is not exactly helping Cam Ward in his rookie season. Keep an eye on his questionable tag but it is safe to bench him regardless.

Cowboys @ Broncos

Start – Bo Nix – After coming back from a 19-point defect in the 4th quarter I am thinking Bo Nix will waste no time in this game getting the offense going. Helps playing the Cowboys defense too. Bo has been careful protecting the football and has been efficient with his legs as well.

Sit – KaVontae Turpin – Turpin does not need a lot of opportunity to make a big splash, however CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson should take up most of Prescotts targets, and the Broncos defense can be elite when it needs to be.

Packers @ Steelers

Start – Tucker Kraft – Another TE that could eat on National TE Day. Kraft has 4 TD receptions this season including in each of his last 2 games. He is reliable for Love and want to continue his trends.

Sit – Kenneth Gainwell – With Jaylen Warren healthy it is hard for Gainwell to emerge like he had in his absence. Gainwell can do damage in the pass game; however, he is coming off a game where he only caught 1 pass and was only targeted twice. I do not expect much from Kenneth this week.

Commanders @ Chiefs (MNF)

Start – Patrick Mahomes – SEE START OF THE WEEK TOP OF PAGE

Sit – Zach Ertz – Ertz is a great TE, especially when Jayden Daniel’s is throwing to him. Unfortunately, he will not be playing so it will be Marcus Mariotta behind center. In Mariottas 2 games playing a good amount of time, Ertz has not scored or even hit 40 yards receiving. No Jayden, no Ertz for me.
