Week 9 Tipsy Picks

Tipsy Picks Week 9

Extreme Values. Miracle dependent plays. One-off shots off the beaten path!

You’ll need a few beers or a stiff pour of bourbon to stomach these picks…

Going a different route this week. I am going to concentrate on just a guy or two for each position. Have real conviction in my craziness…

Tipsy QBs

Teddy Bridgewater $6,000 vs LVR (1.1%)

This is the week Emrick has been waiting for! Teddy going to be in that Milly Maker Lineup. Count it! CMC is back and will rightfully get a bunch of attention (just look at the points KC is giving up to stud backs) and Teddy is going to have a good chance of tossing some very accurate deep balls to Robby Anderson. I LOVE this matchup as it is shaping up to be a game that could be garbage time from the start of the second half.

Under Owned Favorites

Ryan Tannehill

Derek Carr

Tipsy RBs

Brian Hill $4,000 vs DEN (0.1%)

Every year there is a point in the season that Todd Gurley starts to wear down. His knee needs rest, and his team isn’t competing in their division this year. Denver just gave up over 200 combined rushing yards against the Chargers last week and has every single position on the D line manned by second stringers. If you look at the overall stats they rank very good against the run and some people might overlook the points put up against them last week. I would not be surprised to see Hill lead touches and production from the backfield this week.

Other Cost Saving Options:

Justin Jackson $4,900

J.K. Dobbins $4,900

Tony Pollard $4,000

Tipsy WRs

Larry Fitzgerald $3,800 vs MIA (0.6%)

Savvy veterans coming off of bye weeks with a nice matchup against a poor slot corner are spots I like to visit. His last 3 games before the bye week re recorded 8/4/7 targets and is seeing his snap share rise. At 3.8k in a game that Kirk and DHop are getting a bunch of love, I like the idea of this pivot. I want to get to two of CMC, Cook, Connor or Robinson so I need to save salary. You could do worse.

Michael Gallup $4,000 vs PIT (1.6%)

Complete unknown at QB (if you didn’t follow Chris Emrick on his AAF coverage) against a team with a killer Defense, you might be thinking I hit the bottle a bit too hard. But here’s the deal. Go back and look at the games and see the HUGE plays the Steelers D has given up. They are winning games but each week someone seems to get behind that secondary for a big gain. For me that week it’s Michael Gallup, he leads the cowboys in ADOT and has game-breaking talent. I have no doubt Gilbert will try to throw the ball 50+ times and I am ok picking a prime target of those attempts.

Other Cost Saving Options:

Darnell Mooney $3,900

Marvin Hall $3,200

Marcus Johnson $3,000

Salary Saving TEs

Tyler Eiffert- $2,700 new QBs tend to thrown bail out passes and Eiffert has a nose for TDs

Logan Thomas- $3,700 TDs in 2 straight and the second best receiver on the team

Defense

Arizona $2,900 vs MIA  rookie QBs second start is my favorite play with the…

Washington $3,400 vs NYG as my second favorite.

If you wanna go low owned..

Tennessee $3,000 vs CHI I just feel a Foles implosion game coming

CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reports the Seahawks interviewed Byron Leftwich for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Leftwich, who has been out of the league for two seasons, interviewed with the Patriots for their head coach opening earlier this month. Now, the former Buccaneers offensive coordinator could once again find himself calling plays, only this time for the Seahawks. Leftwich's work with the Buccaneers from 2019-2022 resulted in a Super Bowl title during the 2020 season, and an offense that ranked in the top five in scoring in three of those four years. The Buccaneers' offense bottomed out in Leftwich's final season with the team, but it's hard to overlook the decline in play we saw from Tom Brady in that final season. During his four years as Tampa Bay's OC, the team ranked sixth in EPA per play and offensive success rate while boasting the third-highest early-down pass rate. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald seems to be looking for a coordinator who will steer the team in a more balanced approach. It seems unlikely that Leftwich would fit that mold, but it's possible I'd be willing to change up his philosophy with Geno Smith under center and two solid backs in Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet.
