Trade Hub – Week 2

Welcome back to a new season of fantasy football! It’s Monday so it’s time to talk trades in my weekly Trade Hub article. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league.  I hope your offseason was a good one, but it’s time to get back to business. We are finishing up week 1 tonight and hopefully you’re feeling good about the team you drafted.

Week 1 is about to be in the books but not until the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings square off on MNF in Chicago. The over/under is currently 43.5 with the Vikings favored by 1.5 points. We finally get to see JJ McCarthy play a regular season game, and we get to see the Bears offense which could surprise many. My prediction for this game is that the Bears upset the Vikings by a score of 24-20. Expecting big nights from Justin Jefferson and DJ Moore.

I know we are only finishing up week 1 but always make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 2 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Bucky Irving – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bucky had a rather average week 1 against the Falcons. He finished with 14 rushing attempts for 37 yards and caught all 4 of his targets for 8 receiving yards and a receiving TD. Bucky did not have to worry about backup RBs Rachaad White or Sean Tucker as they combined for 3 rushing attempts and 1 target. This is Bucky’s offense and should continue to be, with better statistical outcomes on the horizon. Bucky is a great buy low candidate.

Tee Higgins – Cincinnati Bengals

Tee had a mediocre week 1 along with Ja’Marr Chase for the Bengals. Tee finished with 33 receiving yards catching 3 of his 4 targets. The Bengals had a historicly bad 2nd half in Cleveland that I don’t see happening again. Joe Burrow has to be better and that means airing the ball out. Both Tee and Chase will have better weeks to come, and with the attention mostly on Chase, Higgins is a great buy low candidate. You can use the tough upcoming schedule as a bargaining point.

Terry McLaurin – Washington Commanders

Scary Terry was anything but scary in his week 1 win over the Giants. Terry was targeted just 4 times and ended with 2 receptions for 27 yards. Deebo Samuel and Zach Ertz each had more targets, and Noah Brown and Austin Ekeler both only had 1 target fewer each than Terry. I don’t see that being a trend moving forward. Yes Deebo may hog a lot of targets, but I think Terry will be more involved for Jayden Daniels, especially in the deep threat department. Buy low while you can with Terry and you can use Green Bay as a week 2 opponent for persuasion.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Breece Hall – New York Jets

Breece Hall had quite the week 1 rushing 19 times for 107 yards and catching 2 of his 4 targets for 38 receiving yards. Sounds great if he can maintain his production, however I have concerns for him in that backfield. He participated in under 60% of offensive snaps in a rotating backfield with Braelon Allen and Isiah Davis. Allen even scored a TD during his percentage of snaps. I think it’s a good time to sell Hall sky high, especially knowing he has Buffalo’s defense up next.

Dalton Kincaid – Buffalo Bills

Dalton Kincaid scored the opening TD for the Bills and finished the game with 4 receptions on 4 targets for 48 receiving yards. Kincaid wasn’t the only TE in action for Buffalo as Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes both saw action. There were 4 Buffalo offensive players with more targets, receptions, and receiving yards than Kincaid. I say sell him high after a huge week 1 victory where he scored before you may have to consider dropping him in the future.

Hollywood Brown – Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes made it pretty clear that Brown was the receiver he was looking for when he did not have Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy. Brown was targeted 16 times when no one else had more than 5 for the Chiefs. He was actually the most targeted player in the entire week 1 of the NFL. Worthy is expected to be back soon and Rice will only be suspended for so long. Use those 16 targets as trade bait and sell him as high as you can.
