Pre-Draft RB Hub

The 2025 fantasy football season is rapidly approaching! I have a pre-draft hub for each offensive position (QB, RB, WR, TE) with a sleeper, a breakout, and a bust. Mike here as always helping you get to fantasy football glory. Good luck and happy drafting.

SLEEPER – Austin Ekeler (Washington Commanders)

I am going out on a limb a bit for Ekeler in my sleeper position, but rightly so. Ekeler is the RB2 in Washington behind Brian Robinson Jr. He is certainly a veteran in the NFL, but he still gets good playing time and is dynamic for the Commanders offense both through the air and on the ground. Ekeler is hardly a top 40 RB in most rankings I have seen, making his appeal even greater knowing you can get him late in drafts. Ekeler is great on 3rd down and is utilized heavily when the Commanders need to move the ball fast. If Robinson was to miss time, Ekeler could be a fantasy gamechanger.

BREAKOUT – Ashton Jeanty (Las Vegas Raiders)

Ashton Jeanty was the 6th overall pick in this year’s draft after having insane stats his senior year at Boise State. Over 2,600 rushing yards and an absurd 29 rushing TDs. The RB phenom is the Raiders starter this season and is in line for some major work. Ashton gets Pete Carrol as a coach who we know loves to run the ball. This could be a Marshawn Lynch type of situation for Jeanty where the sky is the limit. The Raiders have an average offensive line, but the workload should be plentiful for the rookie to make a fantasy impact immediately.

BUST – Breece Hall (New York Jets)

Breece Hall is going on his 4th year in the NFL, all with the Jets. He has shown he can run and catch effectively but has not turned that corner in my opinion. It certainly doesn’t help that the Jets really like Braelon Allen quite a bit. Allen was and is RB2 seeing 92 carries last season and having played in every game. Hall has Allen to compete with and now has Justin Fields at QB which could also impact Breece negatively as we know Fields loves to run all over the field himself. I would avoid Hall, if possible, as I don’t see him in the top 20 RBs this season.
