Waiver Hub – Week 16
Happy Tuesday December 17th and happy second week of the fantasy playoffs!! Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB. It is time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy post season greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here is another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.
Last night we had 2 MNF games. They resulted in a Vikings win over the Bears by a score of 30-12 and the Falcons beat the Raiders by a score of 15-9. Next weeks MNF game is between the Saints and the Packers.
Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Go get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off waivers.
TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK
Romeo Doubs – Green Bay Packers
Romeo Doubs returned to action in week 15 after missing the previous 2 games. He was targeted 5 times in his return and caught 3 of them for 40 receiving yards. 2 of those 3 receptions resulted in a receiving TD. That is his second 2 TD game of the season and gets a cupcake schedule with the Saints next and then Minnesota. Both teams struggle to contain opposing WRs.
Quarterbacks
Aaron Rodgers – New York Jets
I guess all it took was being eliminated from the playoffs for Rodgers to play his best football. He got a win and has thrown 4 TDs to 0 INTs in his last 2 games. He now has 9 multi-TD games this season. He even rushed for 45 yards in week 15 which is not a typo. He gets the Rams defense next which could be great for your fantasy playoffs if you need a QB. Rodgers to Adams has never looked so good.
Running Backs
Jerome Ford Jr – Cleveland Browns
Nick Chubb is done for the year with a foot injury. His backup or handcuff is Jerome Ford Jr. This is great news to Ford owners or people who need an active RB at a pivotal time and is available. Ford had a season high 84 rushing yards in week 15 on just 7 carries. He also scored a rushing TD and caught both his targets for 20 receiving yards. He has 20+ receiving yards in 6 games this season. Browns haven’t been the best offensive team but they get the Bengals next whose defense is nothing special.
Tyjae Spears – Tennessee Titans
Tyjae Spears might not be available in your league but if I am he is then I would certainly try to pursue him. Tony Pollard scored but didn’t have the greatest game rushing. Spears was targeted a season high 7 times last game and caught 6 of those for a great 87 receiving yards and a receiving TD. Spears only ran the ball 4 times for 5 yards but was able to find the end zone for a rushing TD giving him 2 total TDs against Cincinnati. Solid matchup with the Colts next up.
Wide Receivers
Quentin Johnston – LA Chargers
Johnston was targeted a season high 10 times in week 15 and that was with most pass catchers available to Justin Herbert. That makes 17 targets in his last 2 games and in each of those he caught 5 passes for more than 40 yards and caught a receiving TD. He has 5 receiving TDs in his last 7 games proving to Herbert and the Chargers that his no reception game in week 12 was not something to worry about. Johnston gets Denver next who he has seen once this season already and will look to play better this time around.
Romeo Doubs – Green Bay Packers

Tight Ends
Brenton Strange – Jacksonville Jaguars
Strange had his best game of the season in week 15 where he was targeted 12 times. The back up TE made the best of the volume by catching 11 passes for 73 receiving yards. This was against the Jets pass defense. Next up is the Vegas Raiders defense which is not worrisome. With no Evan Engram again this week it will be the Mac Jones to Brian Thomas Jr and Brenton Strange show. The matchup is great, and the momentum is building.
