NFL DFS: Monday Night Football Week 4
Doubleheader Preview for Tonight
We have an exciting doubleheader on tap this evening. First, at 7:30 PM, Tennessee travels to Miami, where the Dolphins will be starting Tyler Huntley, recently signed off Baltimore’s practice squad. Following that, at 8:15 PM, we’ve got a marquee showdown between Seattle and Detroit.
Key Takeaways for Tonight
A major storyline tonight is that everyone will be loading up on Seattle’s passing attack against Detroit. However, I’m fading the Seahawks, not just due to their high ownership, but also because Detroit’s defense has been solid against the pass. They’ve only allowed an average of 219 passing yards per game and just 3 passing touchdowns all season. The Lions are also averaging 2.5 sacks per game and have been consistently applying pressure. Last week, they shut down Kyler Murray’s rushing ability, a key part of Arizona’s offense. While Geno Smith has had success against Detroit in the past, those games were under Pete Carroll’s tenure. Can the streak continue?
Make no mistake, Seattle will still look to air it out given Detroit’s strong run defense, which has limited every opponent to under 20 points this season.
On the flip side, I’m targeting both Tony Pollard and De’Von Achane tonight. Both Miami and Tennessee rank among the league’s worst at defending the run, making this a perfect spot for these running backs. Expect a low-scoring, grind-it-out type of game. Huntley is also an intriguing option, as he’s a dual-threat quarterback and comes with one of the lowest price tags on the slate.
2-Game Tournament Player Pool
With Seattle likely being over-owned, I’ll pivot by rostering Huntley and paying up for running backs. Seattle will throw often, so I’m interested in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who should provide value through receptions. For savings, consider Tyjae Spears from Tennessee. While his playing time is limited, he’s consistently involved with 4-5 receptions per game and has the explosiveness to break off a big play.

Showdown: Titans vs. Dolphins
I’m anticipating a slower-paced game with a heavy emphasis on the run, so my strategy is to prioritize running backs and quarterbacks from both teams. This is also a solid approach for cash games.
Captain: Tony Pollard
Flex: De’Von Achane, Tyler Huntley, Will Levis, Jonnu Smith, Josh Whyle
Showdown: Seahawks vs. Lions
Given the anticipated high ownership of Seattle stacks, I’ll lean more toward Detroit to avoid splitting winnings with thousands of others. David Montgomery offers savings at the Captain spot. Additionally, Sam LaPorta could be a low-owned option due to his underwhelming start to the season. I’ll also consider Tim Patrick and Allen Robinson for flyer plays.
