MNF DFS Showdown
Eagles at Seahawks (+3.5)
O/U 45
Keep an eye on Jalen Hurts status. It’s rare for a player to miss because of sickness unless it’s COVID, so I expect him to play. I think we just need to figure out how effective he will be. It sounds like Geno Smith is doubtful, so I will assume Drew Lock is the Seattle QB. In other news, Matt Patricia is taking over defensive playcalling. How bad of a coach do you have to be to be replaced by Patricia?
The biggest issue with tonight’s game is that all the players, including Drew Lock, are priced up. Even with Hurts not feeling well, I want him in every lineup. I hate playing the highest-priced player in Captain, but Hurts is one of the players who can break that rule, especially with his high goalline attempts. If Hurts is slowed by his sickness, I like D’Andre Swift in the flex, as I would expect the Eagles to run more.
I really like Drew Lock tonight. I know, but hear me out. Slay is not playing and Patricia is calling plays for the Eagles defense. Lock loves to throw deep at a 19% rate, DK Metcalf is tough to cover and Tyler Lockett is one of the best values tonight. The Eagles defense is just not scary. I will only roster Lock in the Flex but I will have him in most lineups paired with a receiver.
At tight end, I think the only play is Dallas Goedert and he is a very good value tonight. Goedert runs 87% of offensive snaps and is essentially the #3 wide receiver. Hurts relies on him in the short passing game. For Seattle TE is a crap shoot and I will be avoiding all of them.
In a tough pricing matchup, Lockett, Goedet, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are great mid-range proceed players followed by the kickers.
