Trade Hub – Week 8

We are on the verge of entering week 8 so welcome back to another week of fantasy football! Hope everyone’s weekend was filled with football and great vibes. It is now time to prepare for the next week. This is my weekly trade HUB article. Stay positive and keep going regardless of record and get ready for week 8. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.

Tonight we get a MNF matchup between the 5-1 San Francisco 49ers and the 2-4 Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota. This game seems a little lopsided on paper given that Justin Jefferson is on IR and its Kirk Cousins in primetime. It definitely helps that the 49ers will be without Deebo Samuel, and CMC is supposed to play but it didn’t seem very confident that he would be 100 percent ready. SF are easily the favorites in Minneapolis with a line that favors them to win by 7 with the over/under currently set at 43.5. Will this just be another CMC clinic, or will Purdy have to throw? Can the Vikings muster up enough offense to beat the impressive 49ers? My prediction for this game is 27-17 in favor of SF. Give me a CMC TD and throw in a big game for Brandon Aiyuk. Next week’s MNF game is the Lions hosting the Raiders.

It is week 8 so make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 9 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Bijan Robinson – Philadelphia Eagles

Bijan owners everywhere have got to be upset after the lack of use of him in week 7. The report came out that Bijan had a headache that was bad enough to keep him off the field for a lot of the game to keep him healthy and ready to go next week. Bijan owners had no warning of this and got a big old goose egg this week. Go find that frustrated owner and send him some buy low offers to see if he bites.

Calvin Ridley – Jacksonville Jaguars

Ridley is coming off his worst game of the season posting a season low 1 catch for 5 yards. Ridley owners have the right to be concerned with his inconsistency which gives you a window of opportunity to buy Ridley low. Yes, Ridley has 2 TDs and 2 games with over 100 receiving yards, but other than that he has had some struggles. Calvin has been targets 7+ times in 5 of his 7 games this season yet he has 40 or less receiving yards in every game other than the 2 100-yard games. Example of the inconsistency. 2 of the Jags next 3 games are against defenses that should allow Ridley to take advantage, Steelers, and Titans.

Gabe Davis – Buffalo Bills

This is a judgement call on whether you believe Davis can help or hurt your team at this point and who is worth giving up for him? Well, if you’re willing to pursue him the reasons would be that he has proven he can score and get your team points. Gabe had 4 weeks in a row with a TD and has had 2 games with 6+ receptions for 90+ yards. Davis is coming off a 1 reception game where he accrued a total of 6 yards which is only 15 more than the week before when he had 3 receptions. Bills have a lot to prove and play the Bucs next, so the time is right to throw some buy low offers at Gabe.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Kendrick Bourne – New England Patriots

Bourne scored his 3rd TD of the season yesterday and his first since week 1. Kendrick is on the Patriots which is scary enough for fantasy owners, knowing Mac Jones is in control of a lot of Bourne’s opportunities. In his last 2 games Kendrick has combine to catch 16 of 18 targets for 152 yards and a score. Another great selling point is that the Patriots get Miami and Washington next who like to give up passing yards.

Gus Edwards – Baltimore Ravens

Gus the bus led the team in rushing attempts in week 7 once again edging out Lamar. Gus scored his 2nd TD of the season and had an awesome 80 receiving yards with just 1 target and reception. Edwards only 3 receptions for 13 yards before that 80 yards play all season. It’s safe to assume he won’t be prominent in the pass game moving forward and that his opportunities will slowly lessen with the inevitable emergence of rookie RB Keaton Mitchell. Ravens should be able to run all over the Cardinals in week 8 so sell high while you can.

Ezekiel Elliot – New England Patriots

Zeke rushed 11 times for 31 yards in the Patriots week 7 win over the Bills. Stevenson rushed 2 less times yet gained 3 more yards. Rhamondre is RB1 and Zeke is RB2 and its evident when they start the games. They are both getting some solid chances, but I would much rather own Stevenson over Zeke. If you are an Elliot owner, the time is now to try to unload him for whatever you think he is worth. 2 consecutive games with a TD and at least 1 reception in 5 of 7 games.
