Trade Hub – Week 7

Happy Monday October 16th and welcome back for another week of fantasy football! Hope everyone’s weekend was filled with football and great vibes. It is now time to prepare for the next week. Welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article. Stay positive and keep going regardless of record and get ready for week 7. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.

Tonight, we end week 6 with a MNF showdown between the away team 3-2 Dallas Cowboys and the home team LA Chargers who are 2-2. Both teams are fully capable of winning this game. The over/under is set at 51 and the line favors Dallas by 1.5. Hoping for a shootout with these great offenses, but it seems when I want that to happen, we get a boring primetime game that almost always hits the under. Some stars to keep your eyes on are Micah Parsons, Tony Pollard, Ceedee Lamb, Justin Herbert, Kenan Allen, and Austin Ekeler. My prediction for this game is going to be a close win for the Cowboys. Austin Ekeler will be a lot to handle but if they keep him in check there is a higher potential for victory. Final score of 30-26 with 1 or 2 Ekeler TDs. Next week’s MNF game is going to be between the 49ers and the Vikings.

It may only be week 7 but always make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 7 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

DeVonta Smith – Philadelphia Eagles

DeVonta Smith was poised to have a great game after his lackluster game in week 5. Well, he was targeted 11 times which led the team in week 6, but he only caught 5 of them for 44 yards. Smitty and the Eagles get to take on the Dolphins defense and then the Commanders once again. He had 78 receiving yards on them just a few weeks back. Smith won’t stay down statistically for too long although the Eagles looked very off in week 6 and got their first L. Another golden time to throw some lower offers out there.

Davante Adams – Las Vegas Raiders

Adams was targeted just 5 times this past weekend and he caught 2 of those for 29 yards. Week before he had just 4 targets and caught them all for 45 yards. That’s 9 targets in his last 2 games combined. Prior to week 5 he had 8+ targets in all 4 games and he averaged 12.5 targets per game. Adams is a stud WR no matter who is throwing the ball to him which makes him a buy low target every single week until he blows up here and there like usual.

George Kittle – San Francisco 49ers

George Kittle scored not 1, not 2, but 3 receiving TDs in week 5 which was wild and entertaining. Next week he catches 1 pass for 1 yard. Also, wild. Kittle now has a 90-yard receiving game and a 3 TD performance this year, letting you know his ceiling can reach the sky while his floor is 0 points. 49ers lost yesterday making it all the more important to dominate Minnesota next game. The Vikings, the Bengals, and the Jaguars are the next 3 opponents the 49ers face who all are middle of the pack defending TEs. If you can buy him and buy him low, what are you waiting for?

PLAYERS TO SELL

Drake London – Atlanta Falcons

Drake London making me eat my words repetitively showing he is worth owning and starting each week. In 4 of his last 5 games, he either scored a TD or had a minimum of 78 receiving yards. London tied his career high in targets with 12 and he achieved new career highs in receiving yards and receptions. I would sell him as high as you could if you don’t believe he can continue to play well. I’m skeptical myself although 3 of their next 4 games are advantage London.

DeAndre Hopkins – Tennessee Titans

D Hop tied his season low with 5 targets and formed new lows in receptions and receiving yards. 1 catch for 20 yards. You could sell him high seeing what he did in week 5 and his name and reputation are well known, or you could buy him low after a terrible fantasy week. Do you trust Hopkins? I trust him but I don’t trust the Titans to get him the ball enough. He only had 5 targets yet that was more than anyone else this week on the Titans. It’s hard to trust the Titans offense for all those not named Derrick Henry.

Kyle Pitts – Atlanta Falcons

Pitts is back in my sell high picks after he has back-to-back successful fantasy football performances. Pitts followed up his 11-target performance with a 6-target performance where he caught 4 of those for 43 yards and scored a touchdown. That’s all great for Pitts but he is consistently inconsistent and hardly ever scores TDs. The top 4 pick TE IN THE 2021 NFL draft was out targeted this week by both Drake London and by Bijan Robinson. Pitts also has Jonnu Smith playing really well catching over 50% of his targets and also getting a TD in week 6. It could be a dynamic duo of TEs but that’s not ideal in fantasy football. Sell Pitts while he has value and try scooping up Jonnu.
