NHL DFS: Playoffs 4/17/23

The playoffs are here!  For Round 1 we will have 4 games a night until teams are eliminated. For standard contests, we will mostly be playing the same lines all the time while trying to find some matchup value. DK is also offering 20k Crowns if you play 75 $1+ showdowns by the end of the playoffs.  I will be adding showdown advice at the end of the article.

Showdowns

Showdowns are single-game contests where you stack players from 2 teams with one “Captain” spot that costs 1.5x the salary but gives you 1.5x the points. Generally, I play Centers and high-scoring Wingers in the Captain spot. Centers have the highest upside with their combination of goals and assists. I usually do not roster goalies in a Showdown, because they are always among the highest salaries and their scoring is very volatile. The only time you want to play a goalie is if you think they will have 35+ saves, allow less than 2 goals, and will win the game. If you are playing 20+ lineups go for it, otherwise find a better value at forward.
