NFL DFS: Monday Night Football Showdown Week 16

Spread: Chargers -3.5
O/U: 44.5

I hope everyone had a good holiday. Tonight we have the Chargers at the Colts. The line is close at only 3.5 so Vegas thinks Nick Foles is an upgrade and the Chargers are weak on the road.

I feel this presents us with a more balanced approach of a 3-3 or a 4-2 build. The Chargers’ weakness is against the run so I will be looking at Indy running backs. Austin Ekeler should be the most owned player, both in Flex and Captain.

Captain/MVP Picks

Deon Jackson

Jackson recorded 14 touches, 56 total yards, and a TD last week despite a game script heavily favoring Zack Moss. If Indianapolis falls behind early as I expect, Jackson figures to play more snaps and get more touches, which is great on DK with a full point PPR.  LA also allows the third-most fantasy points to running backs.

FLEX Picks

Austin Ekeler

While I think it is a smart move to fade Ekeler from the Captain spot on DK, he must be in your lineup. The Colts have allowed 420 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns over their last three games. Ekeler has scored the most fantasy points for a running back this season, averaging 13 carries per win and 10 carries per loss while averaging seven receptions per game regardless of the game’s result.

Justin Herbert

Herbert is the type of high-volume quarterback who can have success in any matchup. Indianapolis’s 10th-ranked pass defense doesn’t overly concern me as Herbert has had three-straight 300-yard games.

Keenan Allen

Allen has caught 26-of-37 targets for 266 yards in his last 3 games. The Colt’s passing defense is better than any of the teams he faced in those previous weeks, but he is herbert’s favorite target and volume is key to winning in DFS.

Value Picks

Chargers Defense

Did you know the Colts have allowed the most fantasy points to D/STs? With Nick Foles at quarterback, I don’t see this improving. Los Angeles is coming off a four-sack outing and has five takeaways and a D/ST TD in its past four games. Plenty of upside tonight.

Mo Allie-Cox

Allie-Cox has the most offensive snaps of any of the Colts tight ends, although most of the time os is blocking. With Kylen Granson injured he should see more passing routes and on Dk he is at the salary minimum at $200. This is a dart throw but it should help you roster more Chargers.

Jaguars Travis Hunter To Start On Offense, Come Off Bench On Defense
Another revelation with the onset of teams’ unofficial depth charts came in Jacksonville, where ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes that rookie No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter has been listed as a starting wide receiver on offense but a backup cornerback on defense. It’s an intriguing development in what has been a closely-watched situation concerning Hunter’s […]

Titans hope to manage Tony Pollard better in 2025
OC talks importance of mixing in other backs Titans OC Nick Holz: Feels like RB Tony Pollard is in a good place heading into the season, but we'll have to get other backs in the mix, whether it's Julius Chestnut or Kalel Mullings. Team doesn't want to overload Pollard and wear him down. (TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt) FF Today's Take: Forgive fantasy managers for being skeptical after Tennessee said similar things last year, only to ask him to handle 301 touches across 16 relatively meaningless games. At least until Tyjae Spears (ankle) is ready to come off IR, Pollard's handcuff will likely be Mullings since the team rarely used Chestnut in a similar spot last year. Mullings is probably worth a stash in 14-team leagues, but he will likely remain off the radar in 12-teamers.

Jaguars listed Travis Hunter as a starting wide receiver and backup cornerback on their Week 1 depth chart.
The Jaguars had initially listed Hunter as a starting wide receiver and backup cornerback at the beginning of preseason and continue to do so ahead of Week 1. Though not much stock should go into these early depth charts, camp usage indicates Hunter will be primarily an offensive player, with secondary usage on defense. Head coach Liam Coen said the Jaguars are evaluating Hunter's Week 1 usage due to missed time for an upper body injury. The rookie No. 2 overall pick is still slated for versatility, but fantasy managers can expect to get his offensive production at the WR3 level to start with.
