NHL DFS: 10/25/22

It’s a Tuesday 10 gamer as we enter the 3rd week of the season.  Traditionally this is the week where teams establish what they will be for most of the season.  We have a couple of weeks of stats now, so our predictions should get better. There are a lot of good plays tonight including the obvious like Boston, Colorado, and Calgary.  I am going to try and find some unique lines to give us an advantage.

I am not high on Boston as a whole tonight facing a tough Dallas defense, but David Pastrnak will shoot the puck a lot.  Consider him a solo pay if you can afford him.

Top Teams to Target

Columbus Blue Jackets – The lowly Arizona Coyotes come to town to face Jonny Hockey and the Blue Jackets. Columbus is a huge favorite in this game with an implied goal number of 3.8. 

Detroit Red Wings – Detroit is the only team who has not lost in regulation this season. They face a Devils teams who are coming off a thrashing by Washington last night.  I love targeting road teams on the second game of a back-to-back.  Also, Detroit already beat NJ 5-2 earlier this season, and their top line has points in every game.

Montreal Canadians/Minnesota Wild – Minnesota has given up the most shots and goals (5.4 per game!) of any team this season.  Montreal likes to shoot the puck and their price is relatively cheap.  This is actually a good game to stack, as Minnesota also has a lot of firepower and neither team can play defense.  

Florida Panthers – The other big favorite tonight, Florida travels to the windy city to take on a surprising Blackhawk team.  Chicago is playing hard, getting good goaltending, and putting up some goals. However, Florida just has too much talent to make this much of a game. The Panthers’ 2nd line featuring Matthew Tkachuk is everything Florida hoped for, and should dominate Chicago.

Vegas Golden Knights – I usually try and avoid teams on the second night of a back-to-back, but Vegas is heading into San Jose where the Sharks have no teeth.
