Waiver Hub – Week 7

Happy Tuesday! It is time to hit the waiver wire and improve your team. Mike Hubbard Jr here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football throughout the season. Feel free to tweet me or message me with any comments or questions you might have regarding fantasy football.

Week 6 is over and week 7 is rapidly approaching just 2 days away. TNF this week will be a matchup between the 2-4 Saints and the 2-4 Cardinals. Prime time games have been rather disappointing this season but at least this time we don’t have to watch Russell Wilson fail to cook. Both teams are desperate for a 3rd victory on the season. The line favors Arizona -1.5 with an over/under of 44. I hope both teams show up, but it seems like the under is the way to bet given all these low scoring games. I think having Deandre Hopkins will be a huge addition to the Arizona offense and will be the difference in this one. My pick is the Cardinals to win by a score of 23-20. I’m thinking Hopkins finds the end zone if he stays healthy.

Fantasy football is approaching the halfway point for many leagues. Regardless of your record you should always be ready to add and drop and be aware of waiver opportunities. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.

Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Go get those available players to help your chances at a championship run. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off waivers.

TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK

Alec Pierce – Indianapolis Colts

After just 2 targets and no receptions through the first 2 weeks of the season Alec Pierce has emerged as a rookie who could break out. He might still be available in your league so I would jump on that. Since week 3 began, Pierce has caught 18 of his 27 targets for a solid 271 yards. Only Michael Pittman has more targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The confidence is growing in Pierce and the chemistry is on full display with Matty Ice. Alec found the end zone for the first time in his NFL career this past weekend and I’m sure it won’t be his last. Both Pierce and Pittman should be able to expose the Titans secondary in week 7. Get Alec on your team before it’s too late.
