Waiver Hub – Week 11

Mike Hubbard Jr here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) and Instagram (@fantasyhubbard) for all things fantasy football throughout the season. Feel free to tweet me or message me on either social media with any comments or questions you might have regarding fantasy football.

Week 10 has ended and week 11 starts Thursday with a matchup between the Patriots and the Falcons in Atlanta. The Falcons are coming off a bad loss to the Cowboys and have won only 1 of their 4 home games thus far. The Patriots are coming off their 4th consecutive win and have yet to lose on the road this season. It’s hard to imagine the Patriots dropping this game but this seasons mantra has changed to ‘expect the unexpected’. The Patriots are currently favored by 6 with an over/under of 46.5. The Patriots will most likely have a balanced offensive attack and try to create havoc for Matt Ryan on defense. This game could be a lot different depending on the performance of Matt Ryan. My bold prediction for this TNF matchup is a Patriots win 27-23. I think the Patriots will establish a healthy lead that Matt Ryan will come up short trying to comeback from. Henry finds the endzone for the Patriots again and New England rushes for over 150 yards.

It’s once again that time to hit the waiver wire. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger. Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Go get those available players to help your chances moving forward. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off of waivers.

Quarterbacks

Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton is back to being a Panther. The former MVP has come full circle back to where he had his most success. The Panthers look like a better team when he is out there, and Cam proved he can help them win. Cam threw the ball 4 times and ran the ball 3 times in week 10 where PJ Walker was QB1 for Carolina. Newton found the endzone on the ground and through the air in those minimal chances. Walker had 29 passing attempts and 3 rushes but didn’t get any TDs. It should only be a matter of time until Matt Rhule names Cam the starting QB against Washington in week 11. Cam is a dual threat QB who is almost always involved in goal line opportunities.

Mac Jones – New England Patriots

Mac Jones may not be the most talented rookie QB to come out of the 2021 NFL draft, but he certainly has made the best of his situation. Jones had his first 3 TD performance of his young career on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. He completed 19 of his 23 passing attempts for 198 yards giving him his best QBR of the season at 142. Mac is passing the eye test and making plays to get his team wins. The chemistry between Jones and Hunter Henry has been lethal as they’ve connected for 7 TDs in the last 7 weeks. The Patriots offense isn’t pass heavy, they are balanced on offense and smart on defense. Mac looks patient and poised to continue his rookie campaign with a playoff push. New England gets Atlanta next week which bodes well for Mac Jones and the Patriots offense.

 Running Backs

Rhamondre Stevenson – New England Patriots

Have a day Stevenson. In a game where Damien Harris was inactive, Rhamondre had 100 rushing yards on 20 carries while scoring 2 rushing TDs. He also contributed 4 receptions for 14 receiving yards on 5 targets. He handled the bulk for Patriot RBs in week 10 and made the best of his opportunities. Stevenson is worth a roster spot, especially if Harris is unable to play in any upcoming games. Whoever is RB1 next week gets a very generous Falcons defense.

D’Onta Foreman – Tennessee Titans

Just a couple weeks ago Derrick Henry got injured shaking up the fantasy football world. Adrian Peterson and Jeremy McNichols were the players to add to your team to replace Henry and see who gets the most volume and production. 2 weeks without Henry and Foreman is the guy who has looked the best. All 3 RBs have each had chances running and receiving. Foreman led the Titans in rushes, rushing yards, receptions, and receiving yards among all Titans RBs in week 10. He finished the game with 30 rushing yards on 11 carries and caught both of his 2 targets for 48 receiving yards. It is worth monitoring the situation moving forward, but Foreman seems like the RB you should have of the 3. Foreman > AP > McNichols currently.

Wide Receivers

Marcus Johnson – Tennessee Titans

Marcus Johnson found his role on the Titans offense increase when Julio Jones was placed on the IR. Johnson caught 5 of his 6 targets for an even 100 receiving yards on Sunday in a win against the Saints. Johnson led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards in week 10. I imagine his role will continue to be Jones replacement until Julio is off the IR and healthy enough to play. Next week Johnson and the Titans get a juicy matchup against the Texans in Tennessee.

Jamal Agnew – Jacksonville Jaguars

Agnew has continually made an impact for the Jaguars on offense and special teams. Agnew is a WR that can catch, but he can also rush and return kicks. In week 10 Agnew didn’t record a catch despite his 5 targets. He made up for that by rushing for 79 yards on 3 carries resulting in a rushing TD. Even without a reception this past weekend, Jamal has been targeted 5+ times in each of his last 5 games played. Agnew also had 131 yards on kick returns which can be valuable in fantasy for leagues that count those stats. Agnew is a solid player to fill in for any of your BYE week players moving forward.

Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers

Robby Anderson caught 4 of 6 targets for 37 yards in the Panthers week 10 win in Arizona. Robby caught the only receiving score of the day which happened to be thrown by Cam Newton. If Cam Newton becomes the starter for Carolina this week, we can only hope that Anderson will benefit from that decision. Anderson has had a terrible year but with Cam that could change. I would recommend adding Robby to your bench, but I don’t recommend starting him in week 11 unless you need to. Monitor week 11 and then determine if he is worth keeping, starting, or dropping.

Ray-Ray McCloud – Pittsburgh Steelers

Ray-Ray McCloud had his best performance of the season in a game without Ben Roethlisberger that resulted in a tie to a winless Lions team. McCloud was targeted 12 times which led to 9 receptions for 63 yards. Regardless of the Steelers QB, Ray-Ray should continue to benefit if Claypool was to miss more time. The Steelers love the short pass game this year which can be very valuable for PPR leagues.

Tight Ends

Logan Thomas – Washington Football Team

Logan Thomas was not able to play against the Bucs in week 10 but could return to action in week 11. Ricky Seals-Jones has been his replacement but left week 10 with an injury and did not return. Thomas should return to TE1 as soon as he can play and should make a positive impact for the WFT, especially trying to build off of an impressive win over the reigning champs. When Logan was healthy, he was a great TE to start in fantasy and should be again.

Tyler Conklin – Minnesota Vikings

Tyler Conklin may have only caught 3 passes for 11 yards in week 10, but he was targeted 5 times and caught 2 TDs. Conklin has 19 targets and 13 receptions in his last 3 games. He is a viable option in Kirk Cousins passing attack in Minnesota who has proven to be reliable. The Vikings get the Packers in week 11 who just let Seattle’s TE Gerald Everett catch all 8 of his targets for 63 yards. The Packers aren’t a great matchup, but Rodgers should put up points forcing Cousins to keep up through the air.
