Trade Hub – Week 7

Happy Monday fantasy followers, it’s time for my weekly Trade HUB article. Mike Hubbard Jr here, ready to help you with trade opportunities that can help your chances of success. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) and Instagram (@fantasyhubbard) for all things fantasy football. Feel free to tweet me or message me on either social media with any comments or questions you might have regarding fantasy football.

Week 6 ends tonight with a matchup between the dominant 4-1 Bills and the 3-2 Tennessee Titans. Buffalo is favored by 6 in this one even though playing in Nashville. Expect a heavy dose of Derrick Henry from the Titans. Expect Josh Allen to use his arm and feet to put his team in position for the win. The Bills defense has been stellar which makes Henry the only Titan I feel comfortable starting in fantasy. Julio Jones and AJ Brown should be started if active but I’m not confident with them this season, especially against Buffalo. As for the Bills, Allen, Diggs, Knox, and Sanders are all great plays. I also like Zach Moss in this one over Devin Singletary. Singletary and Beasley could be sneaky plays. My prediction is a Bills win 27-20.

It’s once again that time to get strategic and work in some of your persuasion skills out in the fantasy football trade market. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 7 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Tee Higgins/Tyler Boyd – Cincinnati Bengals

Higgins and Boyd both had pretty bad statistical performances Sunday against the Lions. Higgins had a decent 6 targets that resulted in 3 receptions for 44 yards while Boyd had only 3 targets which led to just 1 catch for 7 yards. The game flow didn’t exactly go in their favor for a lot of exposure. The Bengals led the entire way and as expected they ran the ball early and often. The Bengals won’t always have these healthy leads and will be forced to throw more down the stretch. Both Boyd and Higgins are great WRs and although they will mostly be behind Ja’Marr Chase in targets, they will still get their fair share moving forward. This is a great time to buy low for either WR after their unexpected rather disappointing weekend.

Michael Pittman Jr – Indianapolis Colts

Like the Bengals/Lions game, the Colts beat the Texans handily and led the entire way which made it a heavy run game for the Colts. Carson Wentz had a season low 11 completions on 20 passing attempts. TY Hilton made his season debut and led the Colts with just 4 targets. Pittman tied Allie-Cox with 3 targets. Pittman has 2 receptions for 35 yards. After Hilton and Pittman, no other player had more than 1 reception. The 2 receiving TDs scored in this one went to Campbell and Allie-Cox who both only had the one reception each and made them count. Although it appears Hilton has a good connection with Carson Wentz, Pittman should still get his targets, especially in games where they have to throw more. This is just his 2nd game that he hadn’t hit at least 6 receptions. The future is still bright for Pittman and you should buy very low.

Chase Claypool – Pittsburgh Steelers

Watching the SNF game was probably very frustrating if you are a Claypool fantasy owner. Not surprising that Diontae Johnson led the team with 13 targets and 9 receptions. Also, not surprising that Najee Harris got his 7 targets and turned those into 6 receptions including a TD. The surprises came when Pat Freiermuth was targeted 7 times, made all 7 catches, while Claypool was targeted 7 times as well and only recorded 2 receptions. With JuJu out for the season Claypool is in a great spot to get increased usage. While the targets eventually came, the receptions did not, and it only led to 17 yards. We have seen what Claypool is capable of this year, so it won’t be shocking to see a lot more production following the Steelers week 7 BYE. I would buy low now if you can roster a BYE player for week 7, and if not definitely send some buy low offers prior to his Halloween matchup with Cleveland.

DJ Moore – Carolina Panthers

After 6 weeks of football, DJ Moore has only 2 games where he hasn’t had 6+ catches for 79+ yards. Those 2 games were his last 2. He has 10 receptions for 115 yards over his last 2 games on 20 targets. Although that hardly seems like struggling, it is down from weeks 1-4. DJ Moore is still the number 1 receiver in Carolina and his production is evident. I’m not saying trading for DJ Moore will be easy, but he has great matchups against the NYG and Atlanta coming up and he is coming off his lowest fantasy points the past 2 weeks. If there is a time to get him on your roster this is it.

Keenan Allen – Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers went from ‘watch out for us’ 4-1 to ‘how did this happen’ 4-2. The Ravens held them to just 6 points! Herbert threw the ball a lot per usual but only had 195 passing yards. He received a season low 67.8 QBR. Keenan Allen got his 5 receptions for 50 yards on 5 targets in this blowout loss. With Mike Williams stealing the show this year for the Chargers, Allen has been more of an afterthought. Keenan Allen is still averaging over 9 targets per game in an offense that’s expected to only get better. Herbert won’t have a lot of these bad performances and Allen should continue to get a high volume of looks and should be able to reach the endzone at a higher rate. Find that unoptimistic Allen owner and send in some offers on the lower end.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Henry Ruggs III – Las Vegas Raiders

Ruggs had his 2nd best game of the season on Sunday in a win against the Broncos. Despite only 4 targets, he caught 3 of them for 97 yards and a TD. Renfrow and Waller had more targets like most weeks, but not by much due to the lower than usual amount of passing attempts. Ruggs leads the team in receiving yards after 6 weeks but is still being out targeted by Waller (21 more) and Renfrow (11 more) this season. Not to mention Bryan Edwards is still relevant as a WR. Ruggs has only 7 combined targets in his last 2 games. Take advantage of the yardage and week 6 TD and sell him high for a more consistent player with more volume.

Jaylen Waddle – Miami Dolphins

Jaylen had his 2nd 13 target game of the season which resulted in his 2nd double digit receptions game. What’s odd is that the 22 receptions in those 2 games only resulted in 128 receiving yards. That is less than 6 yards per catch, although he did manage 2 TDs in week 6. Waddle was facing the then winless Jaguars and Miami was without WRs DeVante Parker, Will Fuller, and Preston Williams. They are all due back within a few weeks and Mike Gesicki and Myles Gaskin have both been getting their share of targets as well. I would sell Waddle high after his great London performance before all the pass catching options regain full strength and the Dolphins go back to running the ball more than they did on Sunday.

Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys

Schultz continued his surprisingly good fantasy season on Sunday with 5 receptions for 79 yards on 6 targets. This was a game that went into OT in New England. Dak threw the ball 51 times which was only less than his week 1 passing clinic. Schultz came in 5th this week in targets for Dallas and they could be getting a healthy Michael Gallup back after their week 7 BYE.  Try to sell him high to a team that is in dire need of a decent TE in hopes for an even better fantasy player.

Courtland Sutton – Denver Broncos

Sutton has been a nice surprise this season for the Broncos. Sutton has a TD in 2 consecutive games and leads the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards this season. Jerry Jeudy is scheduled to be back for week 7 and that could hurt Sutton in targets. Also, Tim Patrick and Noah Fant are all contributing to the pass catching game. The Broncos schedule is unfavorable for WRs moving forward as well so it is a good idea to sell him high as you can for a player you feel will be better moving forward.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said CB Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring) is "questionable at best" for Week 3.
Porter missed last week's loss to the Seahawks while recovering from a hamstring injury and could sit out this week against the Patriots. The Steelers' secondary has struggled to start the season, allowing the NFL's sixth highest adjusted yards per attempt and the seventh highest accuracy rate. Porter's absence could be a boon for Drake Maye in Week 3.
