Waiver Hub – Week 8

Happy Tuesday, Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB.
Week 8 starts in just a couple of days with a matchup between the 3-3 Vikings and the home team 4-3 Chargers. Chargers are currently favored by 3.5 with an over/under point total of 44.5.
Fantasy football is up and running, so it is time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy post season greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here is another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.
Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off waivers.
TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK
Oronde Gadston – LA Chargers
Oronde Gadston is just another rookie starting to breakout. The rookie TE has back-to-back 7 reception games including a 68 yard week 6 and a 164 yard week 7 including a TD. It is difficult to stand out amongst stars like Keenan Allen, Quintin Johnston, and Ladd McConkey , but he has and should continue to.
Quarterbacks
Joe Flacco – Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Flacco have a day! Joe out dueled Aaron Rodgers and threw for 342 yards and 3 TD passes. Flacco looks so much better with Cinci than he did with the Browns but it definitely helps to have the Bengals receiving core. Flacco gets a rather soft schedule coming up facing the Jets and Bears next.
Running Backs
Brashard Smith – Kansas City Chiefs
Brashard Smith had his best game of his rookie season so far when he carried the ball 14 times gaining 39 rushing yards and caught all 5 of his targets for 42 receiving yards. He got more playing time since they were dismantling the Raiders, but it could give him more opportunity which comes at a great time as the offense is clicking.
Kyle Monangai – Chicago Bears
Kyle Monangai is another rookie RB that had his best game of the season. He had 13 carries for 81 rushing yards, scored a rushing TD, and caught 2 of his 3 targets for 13 receiving yards. The beat the Saints by double digits which is why he had so many chances. Next 2 games are Ravens and Bengals who both have defenses that struggle with the run this season.
Wide Receivers
Tez Johnson – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tez Johnson caught a TD pass in week 7 making it back-to-back weeks with a TD catch for the rookie. He also has 45+ yards in each of his last 3 games taking advantage of key injuries on the Bucs offense including Godwin, Egbuka, and Evans. His role could increase yet again as Mike Evans broke his collarbone last night.
Kayshon Boutte – New England Patriots
Kayshon is back on the waivers list. He caught 2 TDs and 93 yards in week 6 and followed that up with another TD and 55 yards in week 7. Boutte leads the Patriots in TD receptions this season with 4 and is 2nd on the team in receiving yards. Maybe is playing elite football and Boutte is a beneficiary.
Tight Ends
Oronde Gadston – LA Chargers
