Waiver Hub – Week 6

Happy Tuesday, Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB.
Week 6 is in just a few days starting with an NFC East matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants on TNF. Eagles are favored by 7.5 with an over/under of 41.5.
Fantasy football is up and running, so it is time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy post season greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here is another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.
Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off waivers.
TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK
Rico Dowdle – Carolina Panthers
Dowdle got the start for the Panthers once we knew Chuba Hubbard would be inactive in week 5. Week 6 is still uncertain as to if Hubbard will be healthy. Dowdle showed out given his opportunity rushing 23 times for 206 rushing yards and a rushing TD. Yes, you read that correctly. He also caught 3 passes for 28 more yards. Dowdle was terrific and gets a mouth-watering matchup against the Dolphins next week. If Chuba cannot play, Dowdle could have another huge performance.
Quarterbacks
Jaxson Dart – New York Giants
Dart doubled his passing yards in his 2nd career NFL start throwing for 202 yards also doubled his passing TDs giving him 2 in week 5. He also is averaging 54 rushing yards in his 2 starts as a scrambling QB. It is tough sledding ahead having to play Philly, Denver, Philly again, and then 49ers all in a row, but his rushing gives him a good upside.
Running Backs
Rico Dowdle – Carolina Panthers

Michael Carter – Arizona Cardinals
It was either going to be the DeMercado show or the Carter show for the Cardinals and it was clear that Carter was the RB to have in fantasy. Carter rushed 18 times, caught 5 passes, and finished with 73 total yards and a rushing TD. Demarcado had just 3 rushes, but he took 1 of them to the house and idiotically fumbled the ball before crossing the goal line. More reason to have Carter. Should be RB1 moving forward.
Wide Receivers
Kendrick Bourne – San Francisco 49ers
Bourne caught 10 of his 11 targets for 142 receiving yards when given the chance to play more with the likes of Jennings and Pearsall not playing along with Kittle who is still on IR. The 49ers are a walking injury, and I do not believe Kittle or Aiyuk will be back next week. Jennings and Pearsall are almost a 50/50 chance to play or not it seems so Bourne could always get more opportunities.
Xavier Hutchinson – Houston Texans
Hutchinson is a haphazard kind of player this season. He has 3 targets in each game except for week 1 when he has only 2. He catches at least 2 passes per game and finally broke out scoring 2 receiving TDs on his 3 receptions. Hutchinson will look to grow off that performance, and it helps having Nico Collins there to free up some room. Be warned, the Texan have a week 6 BYE.
Tight Ends
Theo Johnson – New York Giants
Theo Johnson had his best game of the year catching 6 of his 7 targets and caught 2 TD passes. He has been targeted 5+ times in 3 separate games including both of the last 2 games which were Jaxson Darts 2 starts. He and Dart have some chemistry going and he clearly relies on him in the red zone. Theo has 3 TDs in 2 games with Dart under center. Giants schedule is not appealing, but red zone targets certainly are.
AJ Barner – Seattle Seahawks
AJ Barner scored his 3rd and 4th TDs of the season in week 5. He has a season high 7 targets and caught every single target for 53 yards. Barner is 1st in receiving TDs for Seattle this season and is 3rd on the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards.
