Start/Sit Hub Week 2

Happy week 2 of the 2025 NFL season! Welcome back to my weekly Start/Sit Hub! Mike here, providing you with information that can help you win your fantasy league week in and week out.

Week 2 begins with Thursday Night Football in Green Bay where the Packers will face the Washington Commanders. Both teams have a 1-0 record and will look to stay undefeated. The Packers are currently favored by 3.5 points with an over/under of 48.5 total points. Both teams won week 1 by double digits, although the Giants and the Lions are not very comparable opponents. I am expecting a hefty dose of Josh Jacobs for the Packers and a hefty dose of Jayden Williams scrambling and making plays to keep his team in the game. I predict a closer game than most imagine. Give me Packers to win by a score of 30-28 with TDs by Jayden Daniels and Josh Jacobs. Should be a good battle on Thursday.

I am here every week during the fantasy football season with start and sit suggestions that can impact your team each week. My decisions as always include obvious and not so obvious picks. I would also like to clarify that my sit suggestions are based on the assumption you have or can add a player that has a better chance at success. Good luck this week and continue to check out my weekly articles.

TNF START/SIT

Start – Josh Jacobs – Josh Jacobs had a decent week 1 getting 19 carries for 66 rushing yards and a rushing TD. He also added a catch for 4 receiving yards. Washington held the Giants RBs to a total of 30 rushing yards, but Josh Jacobs should have better luck running with a better O-line and better overall offensive team. Jacobs does not have competition for carries so a hefty number of carries should be in store for Josh against the Commanders.

Sit – Either D/ST – Both teams are capable of putting up big offensive numbers, especially in a primetime game in Green Bay. Both defenses are not in a great position, however I would start Green Bay over Washington. Lots of offensive star power in this one.

Come back in the coming days for the rest of week 2’s START/SIT picks.

Recent News

Falcons coach Raheem Morris said Darnell Mooney (shoulder) will practice on Wednesday.
Mooney also practiced in a limited capacity three times last week but did not suit up. He was listed as questionable and was spotted working out during warmups. The team ultimately held him out when they declared their inactives. Mooney appears to be nearing a return, but it's too soon to say he is guaranteed to play in Week 2. Atlanta desperately needs a second receiver to earn targets opposite Drake London. Mooney is a capable No. 2 receiver and will have no issues earning looks once healthy, putting him in the WR3/4 ranks when he next takes the field.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Xavier Worthy (shoulder) will not undergo surgery at this time and is not a candidate for injured reserve.
Reid noted that Worthy won't practice on Wednesday, but it's still as good of an update as you could hope for after seeing the hit he took from Travis Kelce in the Chiefs' 2025 opener. Kelce and Worthy collided on a crossing route, sending the 165-pound receiver to the turf and ending his night on the first drive. Reid called him day-to-day after the game. It would be a surprise to see Worthy play in Week 2 against the Eagles, but the good news is that this isn't a long-term issue. The Chiefs would have put Worthy on injured reserve if they were certain he would miss at least four games. For now, Hollywood Brown will be tasked with operating as Kansas City's No. 1 receiver. Brown saw 16 targets last week, turning them into 10 catches for 99 yards. The target volume alone makes Brown a WR2 for Week 2.
