Waiver Hub – Week 18

Happy week 18 to all that celebrate! Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB. It is time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here is another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.

Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off waivers.

TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK

Khalil Herbert – Cincinnati Bengals

Khalil Herbert is the next man up in Cincinnati. Chase Brown injured his ankle late in week 17 that is leaving his week 18 very much in doubt. Herbert should have an increased role in week 18 given the circumstances. Bengals still have a minuscule shot at the playoffs, so I accept a hefty dose of Herbert through the air and on the ground. He could be in line for a huge day unless the Steelers defense comes out swinging.

Quarterbacks

Joe Flacco – Indianapolis Colts

Flacco is back at QB for the Colts. It is not promised he will play in the season finale, but there is not anything really to play for so why risk further injuries to Anthony Richardson? Flacco has an arm, and he showed it against the Giants topping 300 passing yards. He now has done that twice this season despite just 6 games in action. He gets a nice matchup with the Jaguars that could result in a big performance by Flacco.

Running Backs

Khalil Herbert – Cincinnati Bengals

Ameer Abdullah– Las Vegas Raiders

Abdullah is ending his season on a high note. In week 17 he rushed a season high 20 times for 115 rushing yards. He also reached 32 receiving yards which has been his greatest attribute lately, his receiving game. He had a TD in week 15 and in week 16. He gets the Chargers defense next who he was not impactful against since it happened back in week 1. Chargers are already in the playoffs so who knows how they will play Sunday giving Abdullah an even higher shot at production.

Wide Receivers

Wan’Dale Robinson – New York Giants

Robinson and the Giants must have not gotten the memo that they were in line for the first overall draft pick next season. Robinson scored in his last game and had 71 receiving yards to go with it. 38 targets over his last 4 games resulting in 4+ catches in each of those games. He has tons of volume even with Malik Nabers going off. He gets the Eagles next which could be a great thing since the Eagles are set at the #2 seed with not much to pay for in the regular season finale.

Marvin Mims Jr – Denver Broncos

Mims has been a real home run hitter for the Broncos lately. Last game he popped off for 103 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs. He has 4 TDs in his last 6 games with 2 games over the century mark in receiving yards. He is also a dangerous returner if your league counts for those stats. He had 30 total yards against the Chiefs last time they squared up so I think he will have a larger impact and avenge the 2-point loss they got from KC.

Tight Ends

Chig Okonkwo – Tennessee Titans

Okonkwo has turned it on in his last 4 games ending the season strong despite no postseason for the Titans. He has 28 targets total in his last 3 games and turned them into 22 receptions for 182 receiving yards. Houston isn’t the best matchup for the TE, but when they played earlier in the season, he was able to score a 70-yard TD although it was his lone catch in the game.

Dallas Goedert Back At Practice Wednesday
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. That gives him a shot to return for this weekend's game vs. the Rams. We'll keep you updated on Goedert's progress over the next couple of days. He'll be a low-end TE1 option if he suits up on Sunday.
(Sep 17 -- Draft Sharks)

Brian Thomas Jr. A Full-Go Wednesday
Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. (wrist) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. HC Liam Coen suggested earlier this week that Thomas' wrist was a factor in his ugly Week 2. We're still not totally buying that. But the full practice on Wednesday is confirmation that Thomas is in no danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Texans.
(Sep 17 -- Draft Sharks)

Christian Kirk Gets In Limited Practice Wednesday
Texans WR Christian Kirk (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. HC Demeco Ryans said yesterday that Kirk is on track to make his 2025 debut vs. the Jaguars this weekend. He can't be trusted in Week 3 fantasy lineups but is certainly worth a roster spot in leagues of 12+ teams.
(Sep 17 -- Draft Sharks)

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder/ankle) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Jennings has been dealing with the shoulder injury since Week 1 and played through it in Week 2, but it is notable that an ankle issue was added to his designation. He began last week not practicing as well, but wound up playing to the tune of 10 targets and a touchdown in Week 2. With several offensive skill players hurt for the 49ers, Jennings is in the WR3 range if he plays in Week 3 against the Cardinals.
