Welcome back and happy Monday. It’s time to talk trades in my weekly Trade Hub article. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.
Tonight, we conclude week 4 with a pair of primetime games. The 0-3 Tennessee Titans travel to the 1-2 Miami Dolphins while the 3-0 Seahawks travel to the 2-1 Detroit Lions. Miami is favored by 2.5 and the over/under is 37.5. The Lions are favored by 4 with an over/under of 46.5. My predictions for these games are a 17-16 win for the Titans and a 28-27 win for the Lions. I like Pollard a lot in the Titans game, and I like both Metcalf and St. Brown.
It’s still very early in the season, but always make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 5 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.
PLAYERS TO BUY
Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles got smoked in week 4 losing at the hands of Baker Mayfield. Hurts continues to have costly turnovers and is missing vital pieces in the offense. Although Hurts was without his top 2 pass catchers he still managed to throw and rush for a TD each. It is a great time to send a buy low offer to the Hurts owner assuming he or she has seen the struggles in the offense. Hurts has a BYE in week 5 and after that he should get some players back which will hopefully push Hurts back into fantasy excellence.
Davante Adams – Las Vegas Raiders
Davante Adams is dealing with a hamstring injury that came out of what seemed like nothing but apparently has a week-to-week significance. Rumors have it that the star WR wants a trade to a more competitive team. Now if you believe he does get traded, or you believe he will be back sooner than later, he is a great buy low candidate. It is very risky, but the reward could be exponential. If you have depth and a bench/IR spot available, you might be able to finesse a trade that could end up working heavily in your favor. Tread lightly.
JK Dobbins – LA Chargers
Dobbins exploded to start the season posting back-to-back 130+ rushing yard performances with TDs. Since then, he has come back to earth unable to eclipse 45 rushing yards in week 3 or week 4. He has 3 receptions in 75% of his games this year so you know he is still being involved in the pass game, knowing Gus Edwards isn’t. This is JK’s backfield for the taking and his price tag for trading is pretty low. He has a week 5 BYE and will continue to be RB1 in a balanced offense moving forward as long as he stays healthy.
PLAYERS TO SELL
Chase Brown – Cincinnati Bengals
The time is now to sell Brown sky high. He is coming off his best game of the season where he saw in increase in carries and turned them into 80 rushing yards and 2 TDs. Zach Moss is still the guy in Cinci that you want on your fantasy team. Moss is healthy and still getting the bulk of work so after a solid 2 TD performance it is a great time to sell. Upgrade your RB depth if possible. Use those persuasive skills.
Jauan Jennings – San Francisco 49ers
Jennings had that elite 3 TD performance in week 3 and followed it up with 88 receiving yards on just 3 receptions in week 4. Deebo Samuel and George Kittle both returned to action, yet Jauan still led the team in receiving yards. That right there is a huge selling point if you want to sell him. He has back-to-back good weeks, but is it going to last? He is surrounded by talent making it hard to believe he will continue to shine over Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk, and Mason/CMC when/if he returns. Nonetheless it’s a great time to sell him high to bulk up your fantasy team.
