Happy Tuesday, Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football throughout the season.
Last night we saw 2 MNF game. A blowout victory for the Bills over the Jaguars and an upset victory for Washington over Cincinnati. Both games went way over the over/under total. Week 4 is days away with a Thursday Night Football game between the 1-2 New York Giants and the 1-2 Dallas Cowboys. A division rivalry that could be pivotal toward the end of the season. The over/under is currently 45.5 with the Cowboys being 4.5-point favorites.
Fantasy football is well underway so it’s time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy post season greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here’s another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.
Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Go get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off of waivers.
TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK
Bucky Irving – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Another week, another step closer to Bucky Irving season. The stud rookie RB has more rushing yards than Rachaad White in all 3 games this season. Bucky can be a pass catcher as well making his appeal grow and making Rachaad’s appeal lower. The Buccaneers do have a tough schedule for their RBs, but Bucky should continue to get plenty of action and opportunity. Next up the Bucs host the Eagles who have allowed 84 rushing yards to Josh Jacobs, 97 rushing yards to Bijan Robinson, and 87 rushing yards to Alvin Kamara. Bucky could have a big day.
Quarterbacks
Andy Dalton – Carolina Panthers
Andy Dalton got his opportunity to start over Bryce Young in week 3 and he took full advantage of that. He threw for 319 passing yards and 3 passing TDs. The offense was a night and day difference with Andy at QB. He single handedly made Diontae Johnson owners very happy with a hefty 14 targets. It appears to be Dalton’s job for the taking after a masterful performance.
Sam Darnold – Minnesota Vikings
Darnold has the Vikings 3-0 and looking good. You read that correctly. Sam hasn’t needed to throw for a ton of yards to be relevant and is leading the NFL with 8 passing TDs. Darnold has even shown some of his ability to escape and rush giving him more appeal. It definitely helps to have Justin Jefferson on your side who is just a freak athlete. Sam is dealing with a bone bruise on his knee but is not expected to miss any time.
Running Backs
Bucky Irving – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Braelon Allen – New York Jets
Braelon may be RB2 behind the versatile Breece Hall, but his rushing attempts, rushing yards, and receptions all have increased each week. The future is looking bright for the rookie in the Jets’ offense. He scored 2 TDs in week 2 with 1 on the ground and 1 through the air. He is worth adding to your team and his value will grow exponentially if Breece were to get hurt or need to miss time for any reason.
Wide Receivers
Jauan Jennings – San Francisco 49ers
No Deebo no Kittle no problem. It was the Purdy to Jennings show in week 3. He was targeted 12 times and caught 11 of those finishing with 175 receiving yards and not 1, not 2, but 3 receiving TDs. This was all with Brandon Aiyuk playing and getting 10 targets as well. It is unclear who will be healthy enough to play in week 4 for SF, but Jennings is certainly worth adding to your team. Only Rashee Rice and Nico Collins have more receiving yards this season through 3 weeks.
Quinten Johnston – LA Chargers
Quinten Johnston has 3 receiving TDs in his last 2 games which is more than he had in his entire rookie season last year. After 3 weeks of action, he is averaging 3+ receptions, 44+ receiving yards, and 1 receiving TD per game. Whether it is Herbert or it is Heinicke throwing to him, Johnston has been the best WR for LA next to the rookie Ladd McConkey.
Tight Ends
Cole Kmet – Chicago Bears
Cole Kmet had an amazing week 3 catching 10 of his 11 targets for 97 receiving yards and a TD. It’s hard to imagine he would have that stat line after a combination of 5 receptions for 31 receiving yards through week 2. But he did it and he looked good doing it. The better news is he is most likely available to add if you are having TE troubles and he is facing the Rams and Panthers the next 2 weeks. Kmet is 4th in TE fantasy scoring after 3 weeks.
