Trade Hub – Week 14

Happy Monday and welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.

MNF tonight consists of the 5-6 away team the Bengals visiting Jacksonville and the 8-3 Jaguars. Jags are favored by a whopping 10 points and the over/under is set at 39.5 currently. This isn’t the same team without Joe Burrow, losing both games since his injury. Bengals will need to either play awesome defense or awesome offense in order to stay competitive. Jaguars don’t look like an 8-win team at times and other time you wonder how they have lost. If Jags get the offense moving it will be hard for Cinci to stay afloat. My prediction for this game is a Jaguars win by a score of 24-16. Next week we get not 1 but 2 MNF games! Both scheduled at the same time we have the Titans visiting the Dolphins and the Packers visiting the Giants. I can only imagine that the Dolphins and Packers are heavy favorites at this point.

It is week 14 so make sure you’re aware if your leagues trade deadline has passed or if you don’t have a deadline depending on the format of your fantasy league. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 14 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

D’Andre Swift – Philadelphia Eagles

Swift had a very off day yesterday in a bad loss to the 49ers. He rushed 6 times for 13 yards and caught 2 of his 6 targets for 7 more yards. The carries and rushing yards are the lowest he has had since week 1 when he was hardly used. The Eagles should be looking to bounce back and they should start by establishing the run. Swift may be surrounded by talent himself, but he can do a lot when given his chances as we have seen. I would buy Swift after that dismal performance.

Austin Ekeler – LA Chargers

Ekeler rushed 14 times against the Patriots yesterday and only achieved 18 rushing yards. Very uncommon for Austin who also only caught 2 of 3 targets for 9 yards. He was not impacting the game positively which makes it a great time to acquire him. We know Ekeler is a big part of LA’s offense, and if the Chargers plan on making any noise these last weeks, he will surely have to be a big part of it. Ekeler should never be a cheaper option so this is as good as it gets.

Travis Kelce – Kansas City Chiefs

Another superstar on my buy list. Travis Kelce. Shocker I know, but he just hasn’t been the dominant TE statistically on offense like years prior. He still is 2nd in points for TEs this season which makes it feel weird, but this is your shot to make a splash and get the best TE in football to finish your playoff run. The schedule isn’t ideal for a TE, but Kelce is matchup proof and capable of exploding anytime.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers

Chuba Hubbard did all he could in yet another loss for the Panthers. He had 25 carries, 104 rushing yards, and 2 rushing TDs which all are season highs for the RB. Chuba’s next 2 games are against the Saints and the Falcons who both have had success stopping opposing RBs. This might be the highest price you could sell him all season long so if you have the chance, I’m sure you could get a lot more in return than you imagine.

Matthew Stafford – LA Rams

Stafford has been playing great since his week 10 BYE getting his team on a 3-game winning streak. He last played the Browns who have a top tier defense this season and Stafford goes off for 279 passing yards and 3 passing TDs. He dismantled the Cardinals the week before throwing for 4 passing TDs. Awesome time to sell before he takes on the Ravens defense who ranks best against opposing QBs. Use Matts great streak here to your advantage and sell him to pursue a league winner.

Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers

Love has won 4 of his last 5 games and has thrown multiple TD passes in each of his last 4 games. Love has the Giants and the Buccaneers for his next 2 opponents which is a great selling point if you can unload him. He could still play very well to end the season, but why not use his success to further your playoff push and get a player you feel safer with.
