Trade Hub – Week 12

Welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article and happy Monday. I hope your weekend went well and your fantasy team is sitting pretty. If not, we prepare for week 12 and continue on. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.

Tonight’s MNF matchup is a good one. A rematch of last year’s Superbowl between the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles and the 7-2 Kansas City Chiefs. The game is set in Kansas City and the line currently favors the Chiefs by 2.5 with an over/under of 45.5. This game is hopefully going to be entertaining and high scoring, a game with big fantasy implications. Will Jalen Hurts get his revenge? Will the Chiefs escape with a win? Could either team run away with it? Get that popcorn ready. My prediction is a 28-26 win for the Philadelphia Eagles with a big night from Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith. TEs feast against Philly so this could also be a record setting game for the best TE in the league Travis Kelce. Next week’s MNF matchup is between the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings.

It is week 12 so make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 12 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Ja’Marr Chase – Cincinnati Bengals

Chase had a very off day in week 11 catching just 2 passes for 12 yards. Yes, he got in the endzone which was huge for fantasy purposes. Chase now has 4 games with 41 or less receiving yards including 2 of his last 3. Chase is now going to have to play the remainder of the season without Joe Burrow at QB and mist likely will be getting passes from Jake Browning. Those are my reasons to pursue Chase. Find that Ja’Marr owner and convince them trading him is the best option moving forward. Good luck.

Stefon Diggs – Buffalo Bills

Another superstar in my players to buy section. And why not? Diggs has played his 2 worst statistical games this season in back-to-back weeks for the Bills. 7 receptions for 61 yards are the combined stats for Diggs. The good news is Josh Allen played well in week 11 making Diggs more promising. If you’re able to pursue Diggs now, it’s a great time before he faces Philadelphia next weekend who loves to allow QBs and WRs to feast. Some selling points for Diggs are that after week 12 he has a BYE and then has to face the Chiefs and the Cowboys defenses.

Zay Flowers – Baltimore Ravens

Zay Flowers might be that hidden gem that gets you through the playoffs and snatch that fantasy football crown. His stats aren’t exactly great, but for a rookie WR they are not bad at all. His only TD came in week 6 but more must be on the way with his explosiveness and ability to get down field and quick. TE Mark Andrews is done for the season, so Lamar now has to use his other pass catchers and I believe Flowers will be the main beneficiary of the bleak news. Try to use his week 13 BYE as a selling point and lack of TDs. No Andrews and a banged up OBJ is bad for the Ravens but excellent for Zay Flower owners. Go send some enticing offers.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Josh Jacobs – Las Vegas Raiders

Jacobs is coming off one of his worst games of the season rushing for 39 yards on 14 carries and catching his lone target for 12 yards. Jacobs certainly has the volume you would want if you owned him, but there are reasons to sell him. Jacobs has 3 top 10 defenses in defending the run coming up in the schedule and not to mention he still has his week 13 BYE. Jacobs is one who can win for you in a championship game but is unlikely to be the guy who gets you through the playoffs consistently. Sell Jacobs sky high and aim for one of the WRs mentioned above.

AJ Dillon – Green Bay Packers

AJ Dillon is definitely not someone I imagined writing about here but here we are. Aaron Jones is constantly getting injured, and his knee is currently the problem. That is a great selling point when sending offers, Dillon could very well be RB1 for the Packers for the remainder of the season.  That sounds all good, but we can’t ignore the fact that he has been RB1 much of the time and hasn’t produced anywhere near his expectations. Green Bay’s remaining schedule has more defenses that excel in rush defense than those who don’t. If you own Dillon do your best to unload him on someone else.

Najee Harris – Pittsburgh Steelers

Najee Harris rushed 12 times for 35 yards in week 11 in a loss to the Browns. Jaylen Warren rushed just 9 times and exploded for 129 rushing yards. It’s safe to say that the RB situation in Pittsburgh is starting to feel more like a committee of 2 that is starting to reverse the depth chart order. Warren has back-to-back games with over 100 rushing yards and has a TD in each of those games with multiple targets and receptions. Warren is the guy in Pittsburgh you want on your fantasy team so it’s worth unloading Najee if you can get the right buyer.

Bengals signed QB Sean Clifford, formerly of the Packers.
Clifford will join newly signed Mike White on the Cincy practice squad as Jake Browning takes over at quarterback for the remainder of the season following Joe Burrow's season-ending toe injury. Brett Rypien is expected to be the team's backup to Clifford. Either White or Clifford will serve as QB3. Clifford completed 9-of-17 attempts for 44 scoreless yards in three preseason outings for Green Bay last month.
