Chalk Board | Ownership Pivots

Looking at the slate through the eyes of expected ownership, letting you know what players we are fading and what players we are eating the chalk on.

Ownership is extremely important in DFS – we’ve talked plenty about being able to leapfrog the field if you’ve got a low-owned player that booms while a highly-owned player busts. But we also know what really matters is the uniqueness of your overall lineup, meaning you can have several chalk players as long as you structure your lineup in a unique way or have one or two low-owned pivots.

Settle in as we give you weekly analysis, with plenty of lessons along the way.

Quarterbacks
DraftKings- The Highest projected ownerships go in this order: Kyler-Purdy-Stroud-Geno-Goff. What is missing here? Tua…Dak… I am full fading those above and using classic studs. Don’t sleep on Fields, he runs and locks in on Moore and Kmet, it’s an easy target tree.

FanDuel- Stroud is the overwhelming chalk here with Purdy, Dak, Fields behind them. This is a good place to go to Tua again, with more interest in Kyler and Howell who will throw a ton.

Notes: I LOVE Stroud and this matchup in ARI/HOU game and go ahead and lock either in then find pivots elsewhere. Herbert is very interesting as he is shockingly low owned simply because the guys around him have better pricing but is a good pivot on either site.

Running Backs
DraftKings- 32% projected Singletary, 23% to Brian Robinson, and hovering around 20% we got Etienne and Hall. I am still pivoting up when you can to CMC as he continues to pay off every week. Mostert is the guy to pivot to for me, Achane will be on people’s mind and Mostert will be well over looked at under 4%. Pollard is a guy I’m going back to with Jacobs underpriced and Ekeler at under 5% is intriguing.

FanDuel- Singletary, Cooks, Pollard, Conner, Jacobs lead ownership on FD. Robinson becomes more of a target as he get’s to be a 3 down back this week without Gibson. Etienne is always under owned on FanDuel because of the half-point per reception but I’ll take him this week. I’m watching Montgomery for his revenge game and letting everyone on both sites take an Gibbs coming off great games without Monty. Mostert is still standing out like a sore thumb with potential vs the chalk.

Wide Receivers
DraftKings- Dell, Hill, Rondale Moore, Hollywood Brown, DJ Moore, St Brown lead the chalk this week. I can’t really make a reason not to start any of these besides St Brown. Rondale feels like a free square with hoe much Kyler likes him, St Brown feels like a trap against a sneaky decent defense. I’m not going with much Kyler so I am out on more than one of his pass catchers and I lean towards Moore and McBride over Brown. Obviously, Dell is on everyone’s minds with Noah Brown out, but Nico is the obvious pivot. Puka is extremely under owned and priced for his potential. I could pay up for Kupp too, there is enough value on the slate to go expensive. I’m back on Thielen with his price really down and feel like you have to get one of the studs in with Hill, Lamb, Allen….

FanDuel- Hill, Dell, Waddle, Lamb are the top dogs this week. Can’t fault you for any but still recommend pivots to Nico if you want in on HOU and Mostert or Achane mixed in as a pivot over one of the MIA receivers. Kupp, Puka, Nico, Thielen, are all solid plays and pivots.

Tight Ends
DraftKings- McBride is the only guy to avoid to get different, but to get to his potential you will have to pay up. Schultz, LaPorta, Kittle can get there easiest with a deep dart throw shout out to 2500 Pat Freiermuth. Don’t look past Kincaid in a game Allen might just have to play it safer to succeed.

FanDuel- McBride and Kincaid are covered in chalk on FD, pay up or take a shot on Musgrave.

Kmet is in play on either site as well…

Defenses
I can’t stop myself from being a cheapskate and will be rolling mostly the Jets. Paying up for 49ers is a good idea especially as they are criminally underpriced on FanDuel.

Eagles waived QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Even with the injury to Tanner McKee (thumb), the Eagles feel confident enough in their depth at quarterback to let Thompson-Robinson hit the waiver wire. It's certainly feasible that the team could bring back DTR on the practice squad, but it's just as likely that he'll be looking for a new organization.
