NFL DFS: Monday Night Football Week 9

MNF DFS Showdown
Chargers at Jets (+3.5)
O/U 41

Tonight we have a heavily injured Chargers team, traveling across the country to visit an overachieving Jets team in the Meadowlands. The Jets don’t have much of an offense, but I love their defense. The Chargers will be without Josbua Palmer, therefore they have to start WR4 Rookie Quentin Johnston as WR2. They do however get Chris Everett back at TE.

To make builds more challenging, DK has priced all the Charger’s big names over $10k each, Ekler, Herbert, and Keenan Allen, making them difficult to stack or captain.

I expect Herbert to be under pressure most of the night, so my mini-stack will be to Ekler for the quick dump-off passes. I also like a classic RB/DEF combo with the Jets.

My Favorite Plays

Captain

RB, Breece Hall – NYJ – The Jet’s best player in the last few weeks has been Hall. Zach Wilson is an inconsistent passer and New York has been relying on Hall. In his last 3 games, Hall has had 31, 20, and 21 DK points, a TD in each game and averaging 6 receptions. He also presents cost savings at the captain slot.

Flex

QB, Justin Herbert – LAC –  The Chargers are ultimately a throwing team and they lean on Herbert a lot. He is averaging just under 40 attempts a game and with the Jets run defense will probably exceed that number tonight.

RB, Austin Ekeler – LAC – Ekeler is playing the best of all the Chargers and will be key to any win. Also as I stated above, when the Jets get pressure pn Herbert, Ekeler should see increased targets and this is valuable on DK’s full point PPR system.

DEF, New York Jets – I really like the Jets for getting pressure on Herbert, and causing sacks and interceptions. Maybe we can get lucky and have a pick 6.

Bargains

TE, Donald Parnham – LAC  – The tall TE is a favorite red zone target of Herbert’s and could easily catch a TD or two.

'Optimism' Jauan Jennings Plays Week 2
49ers WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) is considered a game-time decision for today's meeting with the Saints, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "There is optimism he goes. But he ll workout pregame to see," Rapoport adds. We'll get San Francisco's inactives around 11:30 am ET. But, between the shoulder injury and QB Brock Purdy's absence, Jennings would be a high-risk fantasy play if he ends up active.
