NHL DFS: 12/3/22

It’s Saturday and we have the typical 12-game NHL slate. As always with slates like this, we are going to focus on a couple of high-scoring games and leverage that into a win. We are going to start off with a single-game stack with Montreal and Edmonton.

Top Teams to Target

Edmonton Oilers (Implied Goals 3.77) – The Oilers are all offense and no defense.  This means they have to outscore their opponents.  Montreal will be able to score on them, so I expect this game to be a shootout.

Montreal Canadians (Implied Goals 3.00) – The Oilers score a lot because they can’t stop any from scoring.  Montreal leads the league in shots on goal. Expect this game to exceed 7 goals.

Vegas Golden Knights (Implied Goals 3.70) – The Golden Knights come to Detroit to face a Red Wings team who is struggling on defense.  The Knights and Red Wings are scoring in bunches so this game will be high scoring.

New Jersey Devils (Implied Goals 3.52) – I am still riding the New Jersey bandwagon and they should have an easy time tonight with the Flyers coming to town.

Bengals Expect to Miss Cam Taylor-Britt, Might Miss Another CB
The Bengals list CB Cam Taylor-Britt as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Vikings because of a hamstring injury. Mac Jones To Start Week 2; Brock Purdy Potentially Available In Case Of Emergency
Brock Purdy‘s return to practice this week inspired some hope that he could suit up for the 49ers in Week 3, but head coach Kyle Shanahan said (via Matt Barrows of The Athletic) that it is “highly unlikely” he starts on Sunday. Instead, it will be Mac Jones under center in San Francisco this Sunday. […]

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Jordan Mason is going to be used "a lot" in the Vikings' Week 3 game against the Bengals.
The Vikings are expected to be without both J.J. McCarthy (ankle) and Aaron Jones (hamstring) for multiple games. McCarthy's return timeline sits in the two-to-four week range while Jones must miss at least four games on injured reserve. Earlier this week, Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell expressed "confidence" in utilizing Mason as a "potential bellcow." Unfortunately, C Ryan Kelly (concussion) and backup LT Justin Skule (concussion) are out for Week 3. LT Christian Darrisaw (knee) is questionable. Still, Mason is a volume-based, high-end RB2.
