NFL DFS: Monday Night Football Showdown – Commanders at Eagles
It’s Monday and the cold weather has settled in here in Michigan. It was a strange weekend for DFS and I am hoping tonight breaks that trend and plays out how it should with a Philadelphia domination game. I am hoping I can feel a little warmer with a big win!
Captain/MVP
The Chalk: Jalen Hurts, QB – Philadelphia
This is the obvious choice and will be the most popular, but I think you take the chalk and differentiate in your flex spots. Hurts has over 20 DK points in 6 of 8 contests and put up over 30 on Washington earlier this season.
Contrarian: DeVonta Smith, WR – Philadelphia
Smith is never average. He will either dominate targets and score big or he will see a mediocre amount of yards adding up to nothing. The game script most people will be using is an Eagle onslaught with lots of rushing after they get a big league. This is a boom or bust play.
Flex Players
Game Script: Philadelphia Onslaught
Miles Sanders, RB – Philadelphia
AJ Brown, WR – Philadelphia
Philadelphia Defense
Logan Thomas, TE – Washington
If you believe that Philadelphia will jump out to an early lead and then settle into clock management mode, then this is the build for you. AJ Brown is by far Hurts’ favorite target and should grab the spotlight early. Once they have the lead look for Kiles Sanders to eat the clock on the ground.
An alternative to this is to swap DeVonta Smith in for AJ Brown. this will allow you to upgrade Logan Thomas.
Game Script: Balanced close divisional game
AJ Brown, WR – Philadelphia
Antonio Gibson, RB- Washington
Dallas Goedert, TE – Philadelphia
Logan Thomas, TE – Washington
Assuming Washington can stay in this game I will be with their rushing attack and Antonio Gibson. Gibson is getting the most carries and most targets out of the backfield for Washington. If the game stays close, Hurts will pass the ball t his 2 favorite targets in Brown and Goedert. To save salary, roster Thomas or Boston Scott.
Value Plays
Besides Logan Thomas, both kickers and the Philadelphia Defense offer some value. For dart throws, I like Gainwell and Boston Scott in the Philadelphia backfield.
