NHL DFS: 10/28/22

We get a breather tonight with a small 5 game main slate on DraftKings. We now have almost 3 weeks of data to use now and trends are starting to appear.  For tonight I am going to switch up my early-season model and bring implied goals to the mix. Scoring is way up in the NHL this season and we have enough data to make this relevant.

Top Teams to Target

Boston Bruins (Implied Goals 3.72) – The Bruins lead the league in goals (34) and are 5th in Shots on Goal.  Brad Marchand returned last night and had 2 goals and 1 assist. David Pastrnak has 6 goals and 9 assists in 8 games.

Pittsburgh Penguins (Implied Goals 3.72) – The Pens are 10th in the league in Shots on Goal and tied for 3rd for most goals (30). Crosby leads the team with 11 points in 7 games.  They face a floundering Vancouver team who is allowing 4.5 goals per game.

Winnipeg Jets (Implied Goals 3.71) – The Jets have been a mixed bag so far this year but their top line is scoring in buckets.  They face the lowly Coyotes who are allowing almost 5 goals per game (4.8). Winnipeg also offers salary relief to top lines on Boston and Pittsburgh.
