Start/Sit Hub Week 10

Happy week 10 of the 2024 NFL season! Welcome back to my weekly Start/Sit HUB! Mike here, providing you with information that can help you win your fantasy league week in and week out. For all things fantasy football, follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard).

The Thursday Night Football game we get tomorrow is a rematch between the AFC North rivals the Ravens and the Bengals. The Ravens escaped with a 41-38 win in Cincinnati back in week 5 that I’m sure the Bengals have not forgotten about since they basically handed them a late dramatic win. Last time the talented QBs combined for 9 passing TDs and the Bengals have lost the last 3 matchups between these teams. The Ravens are favored by 6.5 points with a total points over/under of 52.5. My prediction for this game is a 24-20 upset win for the Bengals.

I’m here every week during the fantasy football season with start and sit suggestions that can impact your team each week. My decisions as always include obvious and not so obvious picks. I would also like to clarify that my sit suggestions are based on the assumption you have or can add a player that has a better chance at success. Good luck this week and continue to check out my weekly articles.

TNF START/SIT

Start – Mike Gesicki – Gesicki has stepped up in the absence of Tee Higgins the past 2 weeks. Burrow has targeted him 14 times in that time resulting in 12 receptions for 173 yards and 2 receiving TDs. In their first head-to-head matchup this season Mike only was targeted twice while the duo of Higgins and Chase were targeted a total of 26 times. Higgins still hasn’t practiced leaving me weary of his playing chances. Gesicki should have a bigger impact on this game than their first meeting.

Sit – Diontae Johnson – Johnson is talented and worthy of fantasy starting but I can’t trust him just yet. He went from the irrelevant Panthers to the powerhouse Ravens but has not contributed yet. Until I see he can produce with all the other weapons around him in a run heavy offense I’m going to stay clear. Just a matter of time.

Last night we saw the Ravens defeat the Bengals for a second time this season and both times the margin of victory was a field goal or less. Burrow and Jackson both threw 4 TD passes each and both RBs Chase and Henry scored a rushing TD. The eye popping performance in this game was Ja’Marr Chase catching 11 of 17 targets for a whopping 264 receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs. That is insane and must be one of the best fantasy performances by a WR ever.

Some of the games I am looking forward to most in week 10 include the Steelers/Commanders and the Lions/Texans. Both teams in both games have at least 6 wins.

WEEK 10 BYES – BROWNS, PACKERS, RAIDERS, SEAHAWKS

START OF THE WEEK

Start – De’Von Achane – Achane just keeps producing. If you look at his stats with Tua behind center this season, he has over 100 total yards in each one. He also has 5 total TDs in those games. What has been separating him from a lot of good rushing RBs this season is that he has been elite in the pass catching offense. Achane has 50+ receiving yards in every game with Tua this season.

Giants @ Panthers (GERMANY)

Start – Tyrone Tracy Jr – This is a great matchup for Tracy this week in Germany. This game seems very unappealing but could be big for fantasy purposes. Tracy has 16+ carries in 4 of his last 5 games and gets to play against the worst defense against opposing RBs. I think Jones will try to get Malik Nabers involved a lot, but Tracy is still going to get his workload to help open the passing game. Tracy is a top 15 RB for me this week.

Sit – Wan’Dale Robinson – Wan’Dale could have trouble producing in this game. While they are playing one of the worst defenses in the league, he is still behind Malik Nabers. Daniel Jones has targeted Robinson anywhere from 4 to 14 times in each game this season. Unfortunately, he has only scored 1 TD in his last 7 games, and he has only hit 50 yards receiving once in his last 5 games. I think we can get a better starter for you team than Wan’Dale this week.

Broncos @ Chiefs

Start – Travis Kelce – Travis Kelce is on a heater, and it could continue this week even against the Broncos whose defense has been better than most would have expected this season. In Kelce’s last 2 games he has an incredible 28 targets, 24 receptions, 190 receiving yards, and a receiving TD. Kelce is peaking at the right time for fantasy football even with the added stars around him like Hopkins and Worthy. This start is a no brainer.

Sit – Javonte Williams – This matchup is not good for Williams. Let’s look at RB stats for those who played against KC since week 1 concluded. Only 1 RB has surpassed 35 rushing yards all season against the Chiefs and that was Jordan Mason in week 7 when he rushed for 58 yards. It has been impressive the way the Chiefs defense has handled all rushing players, and it is no wonder they are best against opposing RBs. Williams is not worth the start this week.

Steelers @ Commanders

Start – Najee Harris – Harris has eclipsed 100 rushing yards in 3 consecutive games. The Steelers have rushed with Najee a minimum of 13 times in every game this season. He has been a workhorse and has not disappointed, especially since the QB change to Russell Wilson. Expect another heavy dose of Najee against this Washington defense.

Sit – Pat Freiermuth – Freiermuth has not gotten the volume you want to see from a fantasy TE. Like I said above they use Najee Harris as a workhorse which takes up a lot of snaps. Russell Wilson does throw as well, but he has only targeted Freiermuth 5 times in the last 2 games they have played together. Pat is looking more TD dependent every week.

Vikings @ Jaguars

Start – Sam Darnold – Sam has been playing great this season and his stats show it. Sam has played in 8 games this season and has had at least 2 passing TDs in 6 of those 8 games. The Jags might be the worst pass defense they have faced this season. I am expecting Darnold and Jefferson to connect a ton and overwhelm the Jags. Darnold just needs to reduce the INTs, and he will be of even more fantasy value.

Sit – Travis Etienne – Travis has not looked good lately when he has been able to play. He just played Philly and now must face the Vikings, the Lions, and then the Texans. All are great rushing defenses. The Jags have been using Tank Bigsby more than Travis who has not scored since week 2. Etienne has been dealing with a hamstring injury, so it is best to just steer clear from him.

Falcons @ Saints

Start – Darnell Mooney – Taking a shot on Mooney in this one as I have liked what I have seen of him lately. It is worth noting that both Kyle Pitts and Drake London are each dealing with an injury and are currently questionable so keep watching them. If either were to miss the game, it would increase Mooneys volume. Darnell has 4 games this season that he has scored in and had 85+ receiving yards. 2 of those 4 games were the Falcons last 2 games.

Sit – Derek Carr – Carr returned last week and lost narrowly to the Panthers. He threw a TD pass and 236 passing yards. He has not looked elite since week 2 which happens to be the Saints last win. Carr played against the Falcons back in week 4 where he threw an INT and had 239 passing yards. Chris Olave is doubtful to play this week, Rasheed Shaheed is still on IR, and Bub Means is on IR as well leaving Carr with mostly Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill. Carr needs a lot to go correctly for fantasy purposes and I am going to avoid that.

49ers @ Buccaneers

Start – Brock Purdy – The Bucs defense has struggled immensely in their last 3 games and this week I could see that trend continuing. Purdy gets CMC back most likely which opens Purdy’s game. Tampa has played against Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Kirk Cousins in their last 3 games. Those 3 QBs combine for 12 passing TDs and no INTs in those games. 49ers should score plenty of points this week.

Sit – Rachaad White – White is important alongside Bucky Irving in the Tampa backfield. Unfortunately, they play the 49ers defense this week. I do not see White getting a lot of carries or at least successful carries in this game. However, it could be a game where the Bucs go down early, and White ends up getting targeted heavily in the pass game. Either way he is splitting time with Bucky and the matchup is not good. Gonna steer clear.

Bills @ Colts

Start – Khalil Shakir – Josh Allen is playing like an MVP with 2+ passing TDs in 4 consecutive games. It is now known that Keon Coleman will miss this game making Shakir a top target against the average defense of Indianapolis. I also like Kincaid in this game. Shakir has been targeted 7+ times in each of the Bills last 3 games.

Sit – Michael Pittman Jr – Pittman has been struggling a lot lately and it does not appear to matter who is at QB. Despite having 4+ targets in every game played this season, Pittman has not had more than 3 receptions in each of his last 4 games. More specifically he has only 1 reception in each of his last 2 games and those 2 receptions totaled just 30 receiving yards and no scores. Pittman is too inconsistent to start in fantasy right now.

Patriots @ Bears

Start – D’Andre Swift – Swift has been the most reliable Bear lately for Chicago. Swift has double digit carries in every game this season including 16+ in each of the Bears last 5 games. Swift is also a great pass catcher with 20+ receiving yards in 6 of his last 7 games. Patriots are better at defending the passing game so Swift should get plenty of carries to expose the rushing defense.

Sit – Caleb Williams – I am sitting Williams this week against the Patriots. Caleb has not looked good since his week 7 BYE and now gets the Patriots pass defense which is not to be taken lightly. He has not accounted for any TDs since the BYE averaging just 174 passing yards per game. Caleb will need to use his legs to get those fantasy points desired. The Bears are a lot better at home, but Caleb isn’t worth starting in my opinion.

Titans @ Chargers

Start – Justin Herbert – Herbert has helped the Chargers win 3 of their last 4 games. He has 2 TD passes in each of his last 2 games and since his BYE in week 5 Herbert has averaged 286 passing yards per game. He also has been protecting the ball only throwing 1 INT on the entire season. He should be able to handle the Titans this week.

Sit – Chig Okonkwo – it was hard finding a fantasy relevant player in this game that was decently owned in fantasy, and I did not have faith in starting. The Titans TE has only scored 1 TD back in week 1 and he has not seen over 5 targets in a game all year. The Titans might be starting Will Levis again which I believe actually hurts Okonkwo’s chances compared to Mason Rudolph. Either way I do not like him this week.

Eagles @ Cowboys

Start – Jalen Hurts – A more obvious start here with Hurts, but it feels too good to be true. After an up and down first 4 weeks of the season, Jalen has played terrific after his week 5 BYE. He has not turned the ball over at all and has thrown or rushed for 12 total TDs in just 4 games. Dallas’s defense has been very suspect, and they get Hurts and the Eagles who have 28+ points in each of their last 3 games. Hurts should have Barkley, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert to help pad his stats this week.

Sit – Rico Dowdle – I like Rico and what he can bring to a fantasy team, but this week (and next week) he has to face a fierce rushing defense. The Eagles have not let a player rush for 50 yards or more since week 3 against Alvin Kamara. Best case scenario if you need to start him is garbage time points or a lot of targets. Cooper Rush will need to throw.

Jets @ Cardinals

Start – Garrett Wilson – Wilson has been on fire and is hitting a nice stride with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has targeted Wilson 8+ times in all but 1 game this season. He has 90+ receiving yards in 4 of his last 5 games played and with the addition of Davante Adams, Wilson can try to fly under the radar a little. Cardinals will have their hands full defending Wilson, Adams, and Hall.

Sit – Marvin Harrison Jr – hard to believe you would want to sit a top rookie WR, especially seeing he can easily get 100 receiving yards and a TD any given Sunday. This week he has the tough Jets defense that limits offenses, especially in the passing and catching departments. Sauce Gardner is a top CB in the game and will be covering Harrison all game. That is enough for me to stay away from him. Keep in mind that he has only 3 games this season that exceeded 45 receiving yards.

Lions @ Texans

Start – Nico Collins – Nico might not play. He is returning to practice but that doesn’t mean he will suit up. If we get news that he plans to play I absolutely love this spot for him. Nico when healthy has been a powerhouse averaging over 113 receiving yards per game and scored in 3 of 5 games. The Lions score a lot so the Texans are going to have to light up the score board to stay in it and that’s exactly what Nico can do for the offense. Keep your eyes on his status.

Sit – Dalton Schultz – Schultz has been targeted 6+ times 4 of his last 5 games but has not scored this season. In fact his 52 yard game in week 8 was his only performance this season over 35 receiving yards. Even without Nico Collins he hasn’t had that signature score or bust out performance. Would be a great week to do so but all signs point to mediocre stats.

Dolphins @ Rams

Start – De’Von Achane – SEE START OF THE WEEK TOP OF PAGE

Sit – Colby Parkinson – A more obvious sit here, but only because Stafford has both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp back and healthy leaving less volume for the already low volume TE. Since being targeted 13 times in week 5 he has just 4 targets in his last 3 games.
