Start/Sit Hub Week 7

Happy week 7 of the 2024 NFL season! Welcome back to my weekly Start/Sit HUB! Mike here, providing you with information that can help you win your fantasy league week in and week out. For all things fantasy football, follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard).

The Thursday Night Football game tomorrow is between the 3-3 Denver Broncos and the 2-4 New Orleans Saints. Denver currently is favored by 2.5 points and the total points over/under is 37.5. A very low total with Bronco’s defense playing well and a bunch of injuries to the Saints offense. My prediction in this one is a Broncos victory by a score of 20-16.

I’m here every week during the fantasy football season with start and sit suggestions that can impact your team each week. My decisions as always include obvious and not so obvious picks. I would also like to clarify that my sit suggestions are based on the assumption you have or can add a player that has a better chance at success. Good luck this week and continue to check out my weekly articles.

TNF START/SIT

Start – Javonte Williams – Williams is in a good position to produce this week on TNF. He is facing the Saints defense that has not looked good since they went 2-0 and suddenly lost 4 straight. The Saints just allowed Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker to surpass 200 rushing yards and each scored a rushing TD. Tucker even scored a receiving TD too. Don’t forget Kareem Hunt rushed for over 100 yards and a TD the week prior. Also, can’t forget Saquon Barkley’s performance in week 3 rushing for over 140 yards and 2 rushing TDs. Javonte just needs the volume, and the production is sure to follow through the air and on the ground.

Sit – Spencer Rattler – This may seem like an obvious sit spot but with both Olave and Shaheed injured, the hill is just becoming steeper for the Saints offense to climb right now. Rattler showed moments of promise, but he also showed moments of being a rookie in the NFL. I would steer clear from the Saints offense other than Kamara. Denvers defense isn’t exactly a walk in the park either.

Last night we saw the Denver Broncos beat the Saints by a score of 33-10. The Saints offense looked terrible and the Broncos offense looked good once they started running the ball more. 225 rushing yards for Denver. The 4-3 Broncos take on the currently 1 win Panthers next week while the 2-5 Saints play the Chargers.

Some of the games I’m looking forward to most in week 7 include the Eagles/Giants, Texans/Packers, Lions/Vikings, and the Chiefs/49ers. Saquons homecoming. A shootout in Green Bay? Will the Lions give the Vikings an L? And 49ers and Chiefs Super Bowl rematch. Gonna be a fun weekend.

WEEK 6 BYES – BEARS, COWBOYS

START OF THE WEEK

Start – JK Dobbins – JK rushed for 96 yards last game and got a season high 25 carries. He also scored his 3rd TD on the season. Dobbins has faced 2 defenses who were bottom 10 rank in defending opposing RBs and in those 2 games he rushed for 135 yards with a score and 131 yards and a score. Cardinals are borderline #10 worst against the run so we could have another huge day for JK.

Patriots @ Jaguars (LONDON)

Start – Evan Engram – Evan returned from injury last week and made an impact immediately. The TE caught all 10 of his targets for 102 receiving yards. It is clear that he is a top target for Lawrence when healthy. Patriots defense is average against opposing TEs so Engram has the green light.

Sit – Trevor Lawrence – Trevor may have lost all but one game this season, but he has not looked bad lately. He is throwing a couple TDs each game in his last 3 and has a good amount of his weapons healthy. Problem here is the matchup. The Patriots have given up quite a bit of points but have contained quarterbacks in fantasy points. Lawrence is outside my top 15 QBs this week.

Seahawks @ Falcons

Start – Kyle Pitts – I never feel comfortable with Kyle Pitts in fantasy football, but I’m willing to give him a try this week, especially if he is your only/best TE option. Pitts had 59 receiving yards in week 3 and a big old goose egg in week 5. In his last 2 games he has 7 receptions for 88 yards and then 3 receptions for 70 yards. It’s difficult being the 4th highest targeted pass catcher on his team, but the Seahawks aren’t the greatest defending TEs so this could be a sneaky good week for Pitts.

Sit – Noah Fant – Like Pitts, Fant is not easy to trust. He has had 2 games this season with 6 targets and in those games he managed to catch all 6 and end with 60 and 63 receiving yards. Other than those 2 performances he has averaged just 4 targets per game and under 20 receiving yards per game. Going to be difficult to go on the road and produce this week for Fant.

Titans @ Bills

Start – James Cook – Tennessee’s defense is above average in the pass coverage department which makes James Cook even more desirable this week. The do it all RB missed week 6 but is expected to return and start this game. Cook has 5 total TDs this season and the threat of newly acquired Amari Cooper might help take off pressure and keep the defense on their toes.

Sit – Calvin Ridley – Ridley has not not done much of anything for the Titans or fantasy owners since week 2. He has had only 1 catch at most for under 10 yards and just last week he was targeted 8 times and was held without a catch. It is tough with Will Levis throwing to you, so I am staying away from all but Pollard.

Bengals @ Browns

Start – Tee Higgins – Joe Burrow continues to sling the ball around at will and this week should be no exception. Higgins has averaged over 9 targets per game including a 2 TD performance in week 5 when he was targeted a massive 14 times. I love Tee and Ja’Marr this week against the Browns. Both are top 15 fantasy WRs this week.

Sit – Deshaun Watson – Watson has a good matchup this week against the Bengals, but that’s not enough to entertain the thought of starting Watson. Deshaun has not hit 200 yards passing in any game this season and has 2 passing TDs in his last 3 games. Watson’s best WR Amari Cooper is now a Bill which cannot help things for Watson. If you need to take any Browns, go with Nick Chubb who returns to action most likely this game.

Texans @ Packers

Start – Jordan Love – I’m riding the Love train until it falls off the tracks. Jordan has 12 TD passes in his 4 games played this season and has 4 TD passes in 2 of his last 3. Love at home on a hot streak against a 5-1 team. Sign me up.

Sit – Dontayvion Wicks – Wicks had 3 TDs after week 4 and was looking positive for Green Bay. That positivity seems to have turned sour since he started to deal with a shoulder injury and all of his fellow pass catchers became healthier. It’s a glorious position to have peak Jordan Love throwing to you, but he is in line behind Reed, Doubs, and Watson. Wicks has 10 targets over his last 2 games with just 3 receptions for 29 yards.

Dolphins @ Colts

Start – De’Von Achane – JT is the pick in this game if he plays but that is in doubt so I went with Achane. If Achane is healthy to start the game, he should be in a solid position to produce. Achane does have Mostert back in the mix at RB, but this game should involve a lot of rushing and when Achane is healthy he usually gets fed a lot. Willing to take the chance on Achane this week but still worried about this offense without Tua.

Sit – Michael Pittman – Pittman has a TD in each of his last 2 games but that was with Flacco throwing to him. This week Anthony Richardson is expected to start which significantly can reduce Pittman ceiling. Pittman has not scored in any game with Richardson this season and with Richardson throwing to him he has not surpassed 40 yards receiving. I believe this will be a big Jonathan Taylor day.

Lions @ Vikings

Start – Amon-Ra St. Brown – Amon-Ra has played the Vikings 6 times in his first 3 seasons and has produced in all 6. He has never had lower than 65 yards against them and has scored a TD in 3 of those 6 games. It is tough to feed all the players in Detroit, but Amon-Ra and David Montgomery are my favorite options to put up big numbers to beat the Vikings. Let’s hope for a high scoring game.

Sit – Sam LaPorta – It scares me to have LaPorta in a sit spot in this Detroit explosive offense, but his stats are not equating to his superb rookie season. LaPorta only has 1 score, and that TD was his only target in his last game. Minnesota is a good matchup for pass catchers, but until we see some consistency I do not want to chase success from last season if it is not there.

Eagles @ Giants

Start – Saquon Barkley – Too obvious? Well Barkley returns to his former home to face the Giants. That should be enough to display his talent. The Giants have held opposing RBs in check, but this game feels personal. Whether he says it or shows it, Saquon will want to make this a memorable game. I expect Barkley to be the focal point in the offense and get plenty of volume. Revenge mode engaged.

Sit – Tyrone Tracy – Tracy has gained some momentum in his last 2 games but he plays Philly this week. The Eagles defense hasn’t allowed an opposing player to reach 50 yards rushing since the conclusion of week 3. Small sample size but trending in the right direction. Malek Nabers is the Giant you’ll want in this one.

Raiders @ Rams

Start – Brock Bowers – The rookie Brock Bowers has been great this season and has been the best fantasy player on the Raiders offense. Bowers has 8 or more targets in 4 of his 6 games and is matched up nicely with the Rams. No matter if it is O’Connell or Minshew, Brock plays well and is 3rd in fantasy points among all TEs this season to this point.

Sit – Colby Parkinson – Colby has been getting targets and has not been a bad TE option, especially those without a top TE option. This week Cooper Kupp is expected to return to action which will change target sharing for everyone. Not only Kupp’s return will affect Parkinson, but the game flow might be a disadvantage for him. This game is a dream matchup for Kyren Williams who has scored in every game this season and has yet to have a bad outing.

Panthers @ Commanders

Start – Austin Ekeler – Austin has been an immense help in Jayden Daniels awesome beginning to his rookie campaign. Ekeler can rush when needed and is one of the best catch and run RBs in the game. It is unclear if Brian Robinson will play this week or not, but if he does not it just furthers my confidence in Ekeler. Carolina is a one of the easier team to run on. Keep your eye on Robinsons status.

Sit – Miles Sanders – Sanders has not had an impact in fantasy this season. His last 3 games he totaled 7 rushing yards on 5 carries. His appeal right now lies in the pass game having caught a pass or 2 or 3 in his last 5 games. However, his highest receiving yards this season is 27. Sanders is TD dependent and he only scored once so far and it was against the Raiders. Avoid at all costs.

Chiefs @ 49ers

Start – Kareem Hunt – 49ers defense has its moments of greatness but has been middle of the pack this season against opposing RBs. Since Hunt came and played 2 weeks ago he has been dominant and a workhorse. 41 carries in 2 games, totaling 171 rushing yards and a score. Feed the hot hand and that hand is the hand of Hunt until further notice.

Sit – Jauan Jennings – Jennings has been dealing with a hip injury so monitor him up until game-day. But it is safe to sit him this week with his injury and after 2 consecutive disappointing weeks. 49ers face the Chiefs defense which has not been bad defending pass catchers.

Jets @ Steelers

Start – Garrett Wilson – Tough game for both sides facing solid defenses, but I went with Wilson this week. Jets got Davante Adams and it is unclear how involved he will be but is expected to play. Wilson could benefit from that with more opportunity against defenders he might not usually face with defenders more worried about Adams. If Rodger’s can stay upright and throw, Wilson has a good chance at success.

Sit – Braelon Allen – Braelon has come back down to earth over his last 2 games. In week 6 he only had 3 carries for 8 yards. Breece Hall has been the main RB per usual, but Allen has had opportunities as well. It is hard enough to run on Pittsburgh defense, even harder when you don’t get the volume you need to have a solid fantasy impact.

Ravens @ Buccaneers

Start – Chris Godwin – Godwin has been consistent all season long is coming off his best game scoring 2 TDs and catching 11 of 13 targets for 125 receiving yards. Baltimore has been kind to opposing WRs this season. Godwin leads the entire NFL in receptions with 43. Ravens will have their hands full with both Evan’s and Godwin.

Sit – Justice Hill – Hill has just 6 carries for 19 yards and 2 receptions for 10 yards in total his last 2 games. It’s tough when you are behind King Henry on the depth chart. Tampa Bays defense has been average against the run this season. Hill feels TD dependent right now and I don’t see him getting too much work. I would avoid Mark Andrew’s yet again as well.

Chargers @ Cardinals

Start – JK Dobbins – SEE START OF THE WEEK TOP OF PAGE

Sit – Greg Dortch – Greg has not been an impactful player in fantasy this season. He gets minor appeal if you get kick return points. Dortch is fighting for targets with Marvin Harrison Jr, Try McBride, and Michael Wilson. Kyler Murray has seemed a little off lately losing 3 of his last 4 games and that certainly affects his pass catchers. Dortch is still looking for a 50-yard receiving game this season but against the Chargers defense I am willing to bet that continues this week:
