Start/Sit Hub Week 6

Happy week 6 of the 2024 NFL season! Welcome back to my weekly Start/Sit HUB! Mike here, providing you with information that can help you win your fantasy league week in and week out. For all things fantasy football, follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard).

The Thursday Night Football game tomorrow is between the 2-3 San Francisco 49ers and the 3-2 Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers are favored by 3.5 points with a total over/under of 49.5. My prediction in this one is an upset win for the Seahawks by a score of 31-27.

I’m here every week during the fantasy football season with start and sit suggestions that can impact your team each week. My decisions as always include obvious and not so obvious picks. I would also like to clarify that my sit suggestions are based on the assumption you have or can add a player that has a better chance at success. Good luck this week and continue to check out my weekly articles.

TNF START/SIT

Start – George Kittle – Kittle has been dealing with an injury to his ribs but is currently questionable for week 6. I think he should be okay to play unless things happened to get worse so stay alert to his status. Kittle could be the best TE option of the week in fantasy. He is just behind Brock Bowers in total fantasy points for TE’s this season and Bowers played 1 more game than Kittle. Seattle is average in the league at defending opposing TEs. Kittle has scored in 3 consecutive games (that he played in) for the 49ers. He has at least 4 receptions in every game and averages near 57 receiving yards per game. 49ers have a ton of playmakers, but Kittle has to be possibly the most consistent of the bunch.

Sit – Zach Charbonnet – Charbonnet was elite in weeks 2 and 3 when Kenneth Walker missed time. Since Walkers return in week 4, Charbonnet only received 2 carries in each game which totaled 26 yards. Zach still is a threat in the receiving game with 8 receptions since week 4 concluded. With Walker healthy and being a dual threat, I don’t think Charbonnet is going to get a lot of volume unless Walker was to miss any time. I think this will be a high passing game for Geno Smith.

Last night we saw the San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 36-24. Brock Purdy threw 3 passing TDs with 2 going to Kittle and 1 to Deebo. Geno Smith threw for over 300 yards but also threw 2 INTs with 1 passing TD. This game was a lot more exciting in the second half with both teams combining for 41 points. The 3-3 49ers get the undefeated Chiefs next while the Seahawks take on the Falcons next.

Some of the games I’m looking forward to most in week 6 include the Commanders/Ravens, Cardinals/Packers, Lions/Cowboys, and the Bills/Jets. Lamar v Daniels. Jordan Love in his element. 2 high octane offenses fighting it out in Dallas. And then who can get a little momentum in the MNF matchup?

WEEK 6 BYES – CHIEFS, RAMS, DOLPHINS, VIKINGS

START OF THE WEEK

Start – Stefon Diggs – Diggs is going to be the top choice for CJ Stroud this week without the impressive Nico Collins playing due to being placed on IR. The Patriot’s defense is a lot better than their offense, but Diggs should not have problems getting involved. Nico Collins is a huge void to fill but luckily Diggs is a talented player to fill that void.

Jaguars @ Bears (LONDON)

Start – DJ Moore – DJ Moore is on a tear and the connection with rookie Caleb Williams is really starting to develop. The WR has 3 TDs in his last 3 games and is 13 targets ahead any other Bear pass catcher. Jacksonville’s defense has been very kind to opposing WRs so this could be another good week for DJ.

Sit – Trevor Lawrence – Lawrence is coming off his best statistical performance of the season with 371 passing yards and a couple TD passes against the Colts. This week is a different story with the Bears defense. This Bears defense has played 5 games and have not allowed a QB to score a passing or rushing TD since week 2. They allowed 1 passing TD in week 1 and another in week 2 but that is all.

Cardinals @ Packers

Start – Jordan Love – Love looks great for a QB that was supposed to be out a lot longer than 2 weeks. He has played week 1, week 4, and week 5. In those 3 games he has participated in, he is averaging 281 passing yards per game and have a total of 8 passing TDs. Arizona’s defense is average at best in the opposing QB department making Love a great play this week.

Sit – Greg Dortch – Dortch is always a threat to explode anytime, but he has not been great this season. He caught 6 passes in week 1 but since then he has a combined 10 receptions in the next 4 games. Packers aren’t a difficult team to throw on, but Dortch seems to be about 4th in line on the team to be targeted, and he hasn’t scored.

Colts @ Titans

Start – Tony Pollard – Tony is coming out of the BYE fresh and ready to take on the Colts. The Colts just allowed over 100 rushing yards to Tank Bigsby and 2 rushing TDs. Pollard gets the volume he needs to produce and this week he is in an excellent spot.

Sit – Trey Sermon – Trey will get the start this week in place of the injured Jonathan Taylor. Tennessee is in the top half of defenses when it comes to defending opposing RBs. Sermon does have 2 TDs in his last 3 games, but he is going to be dependent on that given he has a season high of 38 rushing yards. Anthony Richardson is expected to play too so he will surely take some rushing opportunities away. He is outside my top 20 RBs this week.

Texans @ Patriots

Start – Stefon Diggs – SEE START OF THE WEEK TOP OF PAGE

Sit – Drake Maye – going with Drake in my sit spot for this game. I don’t like any Patriots in this game because if you’re going to beat the Texans you are going to want to air it out and we haven’t seen Maye do that yet. His rushing ability could be his savior in fantasy, but I’m not risking it with the Patriots lack of weapons on offense.

Buccaneers @ Saints

Start – Chris Olave – I think this is a great bounce back opportunity for Olave after last weeks 10 yard performance. Spencer Rattler is getting the start for the Saints, and he has been public about how he wants to get Olave involved early and often. KC was a bad matchup for Olave, but Tampa Bay is a great matchup.

Sit – Spencer Rattler – Another rookie getting a start much like Drake Maye above. Tampa is a great team to play as a rookie, but I am staying away until I see him in action. He is not in my top 20 QBs this week. Expect Olave and Kamara to get a lot of work to get him more comfortable behind center.

Browns @ Eagles

Start – AJ Brown – AJ is back after missing the last 3 games and a BYE week. He is a top target for Jalen Hurts and makes all the difference in the Eagles offense. Cleveland has already lost to the other 3 NFC East teams CeeDee Lamb, Malik Nabers, and Terry McLaurin have all made their marks against the Browns this season so AJ Brown certainly should be next up.

Sit – Jerome Ford – Ford is in my sit spot this week against the Eagles. Eagles should be fresh off a BYE week and the Browns offense has not seemed very threatening. Although the Eagles have looked terrible on defense at times, they also have looked elite. This entire season they have only allowed 1 RB to score and that was Bucky Irving rushing in week 4.

Commanders @ Ravens

Start – Jayden Daniels – Daniels vs Lamar is fantasy football excellence. Daniels has been special this season and he gets to go up against a dual threat phenom in Lamar Jackson, Daniels has been lighting defenses up with his feet, his arm, and his smart choices. Daniels has turned the ball over just twice this season. This is an exciting spot for 2 top 5 fantasy QBs this week.

Sit – Mark Andrews – This choice does not really need explaining but I will anyway. Andrews has 5 targets in 2 separate games and then has 3 total outside of those 2 games. The inconsistency is wild for such a veteran TE. Isaiah Likely has stolen a lot of Andrews thunder this season with 3 TDs to himself. Commander’s defense is not special, but TEs are a brighter spot for them to defend.

Chargers @ Broncos

Start – JK Dobbins – There are few bright spots on either offense here, especially having to face these defenses. Choosing JK here because the Chargers stay running the ball and has been getting most carries.I believe the Chargers will stick to their guns and pound the rock.

Sit – Justin Herbert – Herbert has struggled this season, and I do not see that changing this week. The QB has not surpassed 180 passing yards in any of his 4 games and gets the Denver Broncos defense that has been playing terrific. Herbert also has not had the weapons he has had in the past.

Steelers @ Raiders

Start – Najee Harris – Harris has been hard to rely on after steady rushing performances in weeks 1-3 and then lost momentum and was better as a pass catching RB. This week Najee should be in line for plenty of work facing the Las Vegas Raiders. Harris has 13-20 carries in each game this season.

Sit – Alexander Mattison – Mattison is a great RB, but this matchup is not ideal. The Steelers defense is a top tier defense this season and they pride themselves in stopping the run and they have done so thus far this season. Mattison is not a top 30 RB this week.

Lions @ Cowboys

Start – David Montgomery – All Montgomery does is rush hard and score TDs. He has a rushing TD in every game this season and has been impactful in the pass catching game. The Lions have a lot of talent and many mouths to feed, but they always get Montgomery opportunities to be involved and his fantasy managers thank them for that.

Sit – Ezekiel Elliot – Here we go again with Zeke. If you still have Elliot on your fantasy team, I am telling you it is time to part ways. He has been a back up RB to Rico Dowdle now for weeks and we have not seen any signs of positivity from Zeke’s playing.

Falcons @ Panthers

Start – Drake London – Drake has impressed me immensely this season. Let’s look at his average stats since week 1 concluded. He’s averaging just under 85 receiving yards in those games and has scored in 3 of the 4 games. He has been vital in the Falcons offensive success and helps Kirk Cousin look great. Carolina’s defense has been average defending opposing WRs.

Sit – Andy Dalton – Andy Dalton has played a lot better than Bryce Young and was really slinging the ball until they faced the Bears. He didn’t have a TD pass last week and was held to just 136 passing yards. The game got out of hand, but without Adam Thielen active and Diontae Johnson currently questionable, I am going to stay away from the Panthers pass game this week.

Bengals @ Giants

Start – Joe Burrow – Burrow flipped a switch back in week 2 and has been putting up big numbers since. Since week 1 concluded, Burrow has averaged 301 passing yards per game and 3 passing TDs per game. The Bengals might only have 1 win, but he is doing his part, and his last 3 losses were by a combined 9 points. I expect Burrow to keep those numbers trending positively. Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase are both top 10 WRs this week.

Sit – Mike Gesicki – Mike has not been consistent enough to start in fantasy football. His 91 yards performance back in week 2 seems long ago and since that game he has 7 total receptions for 69 receiving yards. Burrow may be balling out, but Gesicki is missing the fun,

Bills @ Jets

Start – Breece Hall – Breece is an obvious must start every week, but this week I really like his chances at fantasy success. The Jets fired their coach, Aaron Rodgers is looking unlike the Rodger’s we are all accustomed to, so why not get your best player the ball. Breece can do it all on offense, so I am expecting a lot of him in the game plan.

Sit – Dalton Kincaid – Kincaid has a tough matchup this week facing the Jets. Although he is averaging around 5 targets per game, he is averaging low 30s for receiving yards per game and has just the 1 TD this season. The Jets pride themselves in stopping the passing game.
