NFL DFS: Thursday Night Football Week 8

TNF DFS Showdown

Buccaneers at Bills (-9)

O/U 43.5

We have the struggling Bucs heading North to face a heavily favored Buffalo Bills team (-9). However, if you look at the over-under, we are not expecting a ton of scoring tonight. Overall Buffalo has been disappointing and inconsistent. Josh Allen seems to have regressed back a couple of seasons and is throwing the ball wildly.

Tampa is still good against the run, so we can safely assume a good -passing game for Allen. Tampa is also terrible at running the ball, so we can expect Baker Mayfield to throw more than you would expect.

My Favorite Plays

Captain

WR, Stefon Diggs, BUF – Diggs is having a stellar season and commands the majority of targets from Josh Allen. If the Bills build a big lead it will be with Diggs scoring multiple touchdowns.

Flex

QB, Josh Allen, BUF – Allen is the most versatile player in the game tonight with his running ability. He is also the most chaotic with the risks he takes downfield. I don’t see where he will have to force the ball too often tonight.  He is a viable Captain too, but we can save some salary but using him on Flex.

QB, Baker Mayfield, TB – Tampa should be playing from behind, and throwing the ball a lot. Baker has many targets and likes to spread the ball around, so I think he will be the highest-scoring player on Tampa.

RB, James Cook, BUF – This is a little contrarian, but f the Bills get off to a big league you expect Cook to be used a lot to control the clock.

Value/Sleeper

TE Dalton Kincaid – With Knox out long term all TE targets will go to the talented rookie. He will be highly owned but should be rostered everywhere.

Jayden Reed Had Collarbone And Foot Surgeries
Packers WR Jayden Reed said on social media Tuesday that he had successful surgeries on his collarbone and foot. We knew he was getting his broken collarbone fixed, but Reed also addressed what's been reported as a Jones fracture in his left foot. It's unclear if that surgery changes Reed's 6-8 week timetable for return. We'll look for further updates on his status. Reed is not a must-hold in fantasy leagues with shallow benches.
