NFL DFS: Monday Night Football Showdown Week 7

MNF DFS Showdown
49ers at Vikings (+7)
O/U 43.5

San Francisco is the overwhelming favorite tonight, and DraftKings has priced 49er players accordingly. It will be very difficult to roster everyone you want.  And what do we do with Minnesota with Justin Jefferson on IR?

My Favorite Plays

Captain

TE George Kittle, SF – With the way pricing is tonight, the easiest path to the roster I want is to put Kittle in the captain spot. He has been hit or miss this year, but with Deebo out and San Francisco playing with the lead, we could see an increase in short passes. Alternatively, I like Brandon Aiyuk in the Captain spot.

Flex

QB Brock Purdy, SF
RB Christian McCaffrey
49ers Defense

I am expecting San Francisco to be able to jump out to a sizeable lead and then play a slow game of ground and clock control. Using a classic DFS RB/DEF combo is the way to go maximize your points in this game scenario. Purdy will have to complete some passes, and part of the 49ers “running game” is short passes and screens to Kittle and CMC.

RB Alexander Mattison, MIN – We have a few choices of who to roster for Minnesota. I think the majority of players will want to play Jordan Addison, thinking Minnesota will have to throw to keep up. By playing Mattison we can leverage some of the ownership. I also see a scenario where Kirk Cousins has to dump the ball off quickly to avoid sacks.

Bargains

WR Jauan Jennings, SF  – Jennings immediately moves up the receiver pecking order with Deebo out for this game. I don’t expect a lot, but at $4000, it doesn’t take much to reach value.

Jaguars Travis Hunter To Start On Offense, Come Off Bench On Defense
Another revelation with the onset of teams’ unofficial depth charts came in Jacksonville, where ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes that rookie No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter has been listed as a starting wide receiver on offense but a backup cornerback on defense. It’s an intriguing development in what has been a closely-watched situation concerning Hunter’s […]

Titans hope to manage Tony Pollard better in 2025
OC talks importance of mixing in other backs Titans OC Nick Holz: Feels like RB Tony Pollard is in a good place heading into the season, but we'll have to get other backs in the mix, whether it's Julius Chestnut or Kalel Mullings. Team doesn't want to overload Pollard and wear him down. (TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt) FF Today's Take: Forgive fantasy managers for being skeptical after Tennessee said similar things last year, only to ask him to handle 301 touches across 16 relatively meaningless games. At least until Tyjae Spears (ankle) is ready to come off IR, Pollard's handcuff will likely be Mullings since the team rarely used Chestnut in a similar spot last year. Mullings is probably worth a stash in 14-team leagues, but he will likely remain off the radar in 12-teamers.

Cowboys Set Focus On Deals With OL Tyler Smith, DE Sam Williams

Jaguars listed Travis Hunter as a starting wide receiver and backup cornerback on their Week 1 depth chart.
The Jaguars had initially listed Hunter as a starting wide receiver and backup cornerback at the beginning of preseason and continue to do so ahead of Week 1. Though not much stock should go into these early depth charts, camp usage indicates Hunter will be primarily an offensive player, with secondary usage on defense. Head coach Liam Coen said the Jaguars are evaluating Hunter's Week 1 usage due to missed time for an upper body injury. The rookie No. 2 overall pick is still slated for versatility, but fantasy managers can expect to get his offensive production at the WR3 level to start with.
