Trade Hub – Week 13

Welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article. I hope your weekend was full of football and full of fantasy points. Mike Hubbard Jr here, ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football. Feel free to tweet me or message me with any comments or questions you might have regarding fantasy football.

Week 12 is ending tonight with a MNF matchup between the 3-7 Steelers and the 4-6-1 Colts. The game is in Indianapolis and the home team is a 2-point favorite with an over/under of 39.5 points. I like the Steelers in this game with TJ Watt back on defense and Mike Tomlin managing the game well. Both teams average 17 points or less on offense this season. I like the under and expect both offenses to struggle per usual. My prediction is a Steelers victory by a score of 16-13.

Make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 13 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Marquise Brown – Arizona Cardinals

Brown returned from injury yesterday for the Cardinals. He caught 6 of 8 targets for 46 receiving yards. Only DeAndre Hopkins had more yards than him receiving. In games Brown has played in this season he has been targeted 8+ times in all but 1 game which was the season opener. Hollywood is explosive and with Kyler Murray back playing QB and a lot of attention on Hopkins, Brown could be a league winner in your playoffs. He has a BYE this week which makes it a little easier to acquire him since his owner will be looking for a WR to replace him. Trade for Brown if you can.

Deebo Samuel – San Francisco 49ers

Deebo had a pedestrian week 12 catching 3 of his 7 targets for 43 yards. 49ers blanked the Saints 13-0. Jimmy G spread the ball around evenly between him, Kittle, McCaffrey, Jennings, and Aiyuk. I think this is a good opportunity to buy Deebo low knowing he has game changing abilities and can go off at any time. Yes, there are a lot of mouths to feed in SF, but Deebo leads the 49ers in targets this year and is behind only Aiyuk in receiving yards. The 49ers look legit, especially defensively, but the star power on offense should make Deebo a great play each week. Deebo has 6+ targets in every game this season and is also active in the run game. The upcoming schedule for Samuel favors him.

Mike Evans – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans saw 9 targets yesterday in the Bucs OT loss to the Browns. Even with those 9 targets he set season lows in receptions with 2 and receiving yards with 31. This is prime time to buy him low given Brady and the Bucs offensive woes and inability to put up a lot of points. I’ll take Evans any week against any opponent, especially with Brady behind center. Throw some low offers to that Evans owner that could use an upgrade at a different position. Evans leads the team in receiving yards by more than 115 yards and is tied with Fournette for most receiving TDs. Evans has a nice matchup with the Saints coming up. Even if Lattimore is able to play and shadow him, I like the rivalry and favor Evans.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Garrett Wilson – New York Jets

Garrett Wilson had a really solid game yesterday catching 5 of his 8 targets for 95 yards and 2 TDs. Mike White clearly loves to throw to him, and it showed. The duo can be lethal if Mike White continues to play like he did yesterday. The rookie is poised and making a big positive impact on the jets. He has 4 games with over 90 yards and 2 multi-TD games. Chris Olave is the only rookie WR to have more receiving yards this season and Wilson is tied with Jahan Dotson for 2nd most rookie WR TDs behind the emerging Christian Watson. All that being said, you could sell Wilson high after this great game. Mike White has Elijah Moore, Tyler Conklin, and Corey Davis for pass catchers, and they have a tough matchup with Buffalo in 2 weeks. You might be able to get a gem for Wilson.

Samaje Perine – Cincinnati Bengals

Perine is on my sell high list because of his last 2 stellar games. He caught 3 TD passes in week 11 and ran for a TD yesterday. He had 28 carries and 11 targets in his last 2 games and took advantage of his chances with Mixon hurt/not playing. Mixon is most likely going to return this week in time to play Kansas City which could be a great matchup for the Bengals offense. With Mixon healthy and RB1 for the Bengals, Perine falls back down to a backup RB and that is the reason to unload him if you can. Hopefully someone needs a RB with potential, as you never know if Mixon will stay healthy. Sell him for whatever you can get as long as Mixon is set to return.

D’Andre Swift – Detroit Lions

Swift is an elite RB, but his stats aren’t exactly reflecting his abilities. He has struggled with injuries and Jamaal Williams has not been a big help regarding Swifts chances of being the dominant RB1 he once was. Williams has been an absolute vulture for TDs this season. Swift has 5 combined TDs this season while Jamaal Williams has 13. If you can afford to trade Swift I absolutely would. Even with good matchups Swift isn’t getting enough touches. His best value has come in the receiving game and that has been scarce as well. If you own Swift and are tired of the headache that comes with starting him and dealing with his mediocre numbers, sell him for someone you think will have a higher ceiling.
