NFL DFS: Sunday Nioiight Football Showdown – Chargers at 49ers

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a successful Thursday night. Tonight we have a much better game, on paper. The LA Chargers are banged up, relying on their 3rd and 4th receivers to replace Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. San Francisco has already seemed to find the best use for CMC and he is back to being the top dual-purpose back in the league. This game feels like a 49er domination, but the Chargers have Austin Eckler.

I am going to try a little different format tonight, let me know what you think on our NFL DFS Discord channel.

Captain/MVP

The Chalk: Christain McCaffrey
CMC will understandably be the most-owned Captain tonight. On DraftKings, he has the highest salary at $17,400, which will severely limit your flex positions. If you don’t roster him in the Captain spot, he is a must in the Flex. On Fanduel, he is a must in the MVP.

Contrarian: Brandon Aiyuk
Deebo Samuel will get most of the coverage and Jimmy G loves throwing to Aiyuck. On DraftKings, he is a massive $5100 savings versus CMC and he is averaging 21 DK points per game over the last 3.

Flex Options

Balanced Lineup
Jimmy Garapolo
George Kittle
Joshua Palmer
DeAndre Carter

The 49ers will do everything they can to limit Ekler, therefore the best options for the Chargers are their 2 receivers.

SF Onslaught
Jimmy Garapolo
Christain McCaffrey
49ers Defense
Joshua Palmer

My preferred build for tonight. I think SF will contain Ekler and force Herbert into the air. Josh Palmer should see the most targets and there is a good chance of multiple interceptions/sacks by the defense.

Value Picks
Kyle Juszcyk, SF
Ray-Ray McCloud, SF
Isiah Spiller, LA

No matter what build you take, you will need some dirt-cheap options to get you a few points and maybe a TD. The 49ers, always have a play or 2 ready for McCloud and Juscyk. Spiller has been surprisingly getting more involved in the Charger’s offense and will see enough touches to have a chance at points.

Eagles waived QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Even with the injury to Tanner McKee (thumb), the Eagles feel confident enough in their depth at quarterback to let Thompson-Robinson hit the waiver wire. It's certainly feasible that the team could bring back DTR on the practice squad, but it's just as likely that he'll be looking for a new organization.
