NFL DFS: Monday Night Football Showdown

The Line: Chargers -4 | O/U 45.5

Another Prime Time game for Denver, I am so bored with this team.  The Chargers should win but don’t expect a blowout.  Denver has held opponents under 17 points in 4 out of 5 games. I see 2 possible game scripts tonight, a Chargers onslaught, or a low-scoring defensive battle. Maybe they will surprise me but I don’t see Denver putting up big numbers.

Captain/MVP Picks

Austin Ekeler – RB, $17,100 (DK), $14,500 (FD)

Ekeler is the highest-priced player tonight and for good reason, putting up 35 and 39 fantasy points in each of his last 2 games. What really makes Ekeler valuable is his pass-catching ability and his elusiveness on the second level. He’s expensive which may keep ownership down in the Captain slot on DK and there is plenty of value tonight.

Also Consider: Justin Herbert

FLEX Picks

Justin Herbert – QB, $16,500 (DK), $17,500 (FD)

Herbert has quietly thrown 10 TD and only 2 interceptions so far this year. While Denver has held opposing QBs to around 11 points per game, the competition was mediocre at best.  Herbert has enough weapons to spread the ball around and find holes in the Bronco’s defense.

Russell Wilson – QB, $10,000 (DK), $15,000 (FD)

I really think Denver will be playing from behind tonight, which means more passing for Wilson.  He is priced down (for a QB) making him easier to fit in your lineups. If Denver has any chance in this game it will be on Wilson’s shoulders.

Mike Boone – RB, $4,800 (DK), $7,500 (FD)

With Melvin Gordon nursing several injuries, Mike Boone should see an increased workload in both the running and passing game.

Also Consider: Courtland Sutton, Jerry Juedy, Josh Palmer

Value Picks

Brandon McManus – K, $3,800 (DK), $9,000 (FD)

The Broncos are struggling with touchdowns in the red zone, giving McManus a lot of opportunities for points.

Also, consider defenses in team stacks.  They are both good plays tonight.

Will Braelon Allen Lead The Jets In Rushing?
The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt's "bold prediction" for the Jets' 2025 season is that RB Braelon Allen leads the team in rushing. "There s an assumption that Breece Hall is the Jets top running back but when the games start and Aaron Glenn and Tanner Engstrand start divvying up the carries, I truly think at some point (perhaps early) Allen will become the predominant ball carrier in the running back room," Rosenblatt writes.
