PLAYERS TO BUY
Josh Jacobs – Las Vegas Raiders
Coming off his biggest week, we’re not chasing points here because his underlying opportunities have been there. He just finally got some TDs. He’s a rare workhorse back in today’s NFL. With people down on him coming into the season, take advantage of his owner who may think he’s selling high.
Tee Higgins – Cincinnati Bengals
He’s actually outperformed Chase throughout their time together, just without as many headlines. That makes him a great buy-low candidate. It may be too late given last week’s game but try to trade for him before the Bengals offense really gets going.
Michael Gallup – Dallas Cowboys
He’s back and Dak should be back soon as well. Smart owners may have added him already but he’s worth a trade target for his role in what is supposed to be a high-powered offense. We haven’t seen the Cowboys at full strength yet, buy low while you can.
Gabe Davis – Buffalo Bills
He was full of hype coming into the season. All he does is catch touchdowns! He had an injury scare but is back and the Bills are coming off a down game, albeit a win, against the Ravens. This may be the last opportunity to buy Davis.
George Pickens – Pittsburgh Steelers
May not be an easy buy target because if someone already owns him, they likely believe in him long term, but give it a shot. With Pickett now starting, they should have that rookie-to-rookie connection developed already and we should start seeing more Pickens games like last week. He’s a top waiver add if not already owned.
PLAYERS TO SELL
Clyde Edwards Helaire – Kansas City Chiefs
He’s scoring a lot, but that’s not sustainable. His touchdowns don’t match the actual number of opportunities he’s getting. He may be relegated to a game-stack target in DFS. See if you can sell him high for a play who is actually getting more opportunity. CEH for Jacobs may be a possibility.
Austin Ekeler – Los Angeles Chargers
If you drafted Ekeler you may not feel like you can get a high enough return for his name value, but like CEH above he’s due for TD regression from last year. You may be able to sell high coming off his big game. Maybe the Jonathan Taylor owner has some nice other pieces you’d want and you can make a deal. This works if you’re deep at RB and need a WR upgrade. Maybe Ekeler for Jacobs and a strong WR.
Rashaad Penny – Seattle Seahawks
We were probably higher on Penny than most because of his explosive finish last year. But coming off this ridiculous game is a great opportunity to sell high. Penny for Jacobs and a WR… seeing a trend? You may even be able to aim higher and you flip Penny and a WR for someone like Dalvin Cook.
Najee Harris and Diontae Johnson – Pittsburgh Steelers
If Pickens is a buy, these two are at least on watch. Harris has already been seeing a different role than he had last year, but maybe they lean on him more now. And if Pickens keeps ascending, it’s likely Johnson that takes a hit.
