Trade Hub – Week 15

Happy Monday and welcome back to my weekly Trade Hub article. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league.

The week 14 MNF game tonight is between the 4-6 Cincinnati Bengals and the 5-7 Dallas Cowboys. The Bengals are favored by 5.5 points and the total over/under is 49.5. My prediction for this game is a Bengals win by a score of 36-27. Big nights for both Chase’s and Rico Dowdle.

Always make sure you are aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 15 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Amon-Ra St. Brown – Detroit Lions

Amon-Ra is on a slump currently, well at least compared to the WRs normal fantasy output. I know what you are thinking, how can I get St. Brown when his team has 12 wins, and he is the best pass catcher on the team. Well, your best bet is to remind his owner that he has not scored in his last 3 games played, and that he is averaging under 60 receiving yards per game in that span. Another reason is that the Lions have Buffalo, Chicago, and San Francisco for their 3 fantasy playoff matchups which are all top 10 pass defenses to opposing WRs.

Rico Dowdle – Dallas Cowboys

Rico is set to take on the Bengals tonight, but even without knowing how he plays, I think buying him is a promising idea, and hopefully you can try to buy him low. The Cowboys have won 2 in a row and Dowdle has been heavily involved. He has 41 carries over his last 2 games and has caught all 6 of his targets. After the MNF game he gets the Carolina defense and if you are still alive come week 16, he gets the Bucs defense. Both great matchups on a team that is desperate to win against defenses that are less than ideal.

PLAYERS TO SELL

DK Metcalf – Seattle Seahawks

Seattle is on a 4-game win streak and arguably playing their best football right now. The team has been clicking, and it is not always much to do with Metcalf. The WR has not scored since week 7 and has only caught 5+ passes in 3 games this season. He is averaging under 60 yards per game in his last 3 games and is a big boom or bust player each week. For the first round of fantasy playoffs, he gets a tough matchup with Green Bay’s pass defense. Understandable to want to keep DK but throw out some offers and see what you could get in a pivotal fantasy week.

Deebo Samuel – San Francisco 49ers

Deebo is another stud WR who has not been living up to his potential. The 49ers have struggled as a whole this season but Deebo has been noticeably low based off previous seasons. Deebo has 1 TD all season. Normally it would be a case where they have so many talented players that he just isn’t getting the ball enough. But that’s not the case, Deebo has not been producing. He has under 25 receiving yards in 4 consecutive games and hasn’t reached 20 rushing yards in a game since week 1. Deebo has an average Rams defense next followed by a tough Miami pass defense in week 16. I would sell him sky high just because of his name and popularity.

Recent News

Broncos TE Evan Engram (back) did not practice on Thursday.
The good news is that the 31-year-old tight end is no longer listed with a calf injury. It ends there. Engram has caught 4-of-6 targets for 33 yards through two games, making him difficult to roster given the injury concerns and questionable upside. Should Engram get right in a week or two, it is possible for him to return TE1 value. Fantasy managers are encouraged to explore the waiver wire for superior bench stashes though. Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) notably has a chance to return this week.

49ers WR Jordan Watkins (calf) was added to the injury report on Thursday.
Watkins is listed as a limited participant, which suggests the once-hyped rookie wide receiver strained his calf in practice. It's a brutal development for a young player who just rehabbed an ankle injury. Watkins is seemingly unlikely to suit up in Week 3 against the Cardinals.

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle/shoulder) did not practice on Thursday.
Last week, when Jennings was only dealing with a shoulder injury, he sat out practice on Wednesday and Thursday before practicing in a limited capacity on Friday. He then improbably caught 5-of-10 targets for 89 yards and one touchdown. Jennings is tough to trust, given the new injury, but we expect a similar practice participation situation to unfold tomorrow. He is a boom-bust WR3 for the time being.

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) was limited on Thursday.
Purdy was asked if he could end up playing this weekend, and he responded by saying that the decision will come down to how he is feeling come "game time." That's a bit surprising, but it sounds as though Purdy may actually suit up this weekend. His continued limited participation only furthers the notion. His mobility may be impeded if he is active, however, and he is also still nursing a left shoulder injury.
