Trade Hub – Week 7
Happy Monday and welcome back to my weekly Trade Hub article. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.
The Monday Night Football matchup we get tonight is between the 3-2 Buffalo Bills and the 2-3 New York Jets. Buffalo is the favorite by 1 point and the over/under total points is set currently at 41.5. My prediction for this game is a 23-20 win for Buffalo. Aaron Rodgers should look to get Breece Hall going early, and the Bills have to establish a healthy run game tonight.
Always make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 7 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.
PLAYERS TO BUY
Jake Ferguson – Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys got embarrassed by the Lions this week and that is putting it mildly. Ferguson was targeted just 4 times and caught 3 of them for 11 receiving yards. That was his season low in targets, receiving yards, and tied his low in receptions. Jake owners I’m sure aren’t pleased with that game and that he is going to be on a BYE next week. Approach those Ferguson owners and negotiate your way to landing a good TE with promise for the rest of the season. Only 3 TEs have more targets this season in the NFL.
Brian Thomas Jr – Jacksonville Jaguars
Thomas Jr is coming off his worst week in his rookie campaign where he mustered only 27 receiving yards. His first 5 games all had 47+ receiving yards including 3 games with 86+ receiving yards. Thomas has what it takes to be WR1 in Jacksonville and if their owner doesn’t believe that it’s the perfect time to buy him low. Trevor Lawrence has looked less than ideal this season and Evan Engram seemed to get a lot of his attention in his return. 4 of the next 5 games for Jacksonville are great matchups for WRs.
PLAYERS TO SELL
Mark Andrews – Baltimore Ravens
Mark Andrews caught a TD! What does this mean? It means this is the time to sell high. The veteran TE has been primarily a blocker this season and hasn’t seen more than 5 targets in a game this season and averages just 3 per game. Andrews TD seemed like a fluke rather than a positive trend.
Tank Dell – Houston Texans
Tank Dell scored a TD this week, was targeted a season high 9 times and caught 7 of those for 57 receiving yards. This was all in the absence of Nico Collins. The Texans also had Joe Mixon active and Dameon Pierce active who combined for 21 carries. With Mixon playing it changes the offense a bit which will hurt Dells chances moving forward, especially when Nico Collins is healthy and comes back. It might be the best time to sell the WR high.
Sam LaPorta – Detroit Lions
It hurts me to have LaPorta in this sell high spot after such an amazing rookie season and the talent he has in him and around him. Well, here we are. LaPorta caught is only target for the day that came on a trick play where he scored on a 52-yard catch and run. The Lions are stacked on offense and LaPorta just hasn’t had the volume he needs. He sits 15th in TE fantasy points this season and for perspective Mark Andrews is 3 spots below him with 1 less point. Sell him high unless you think things will get better.
