Happy Tuesday, Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football throughout the season.
Last night we saw the Kansas City Chiefs handle the New Orleans Saints by a score of 26-13. The big stories there were that Derek Carr left late in the game, Kareem Hunt had 27 carries for 102 yards and JuJu Smith-Schuster caught 7 of 8 targets for 130 receiving yards. The Saints have lost 3 consecutive games after their hot start and now have Buccaneers next. The undefeated 5-0 Chiefs have to travel to San Francisco next.
It’s time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy post season greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here’s another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.
Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Go get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off of waivers.
TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK
Tank Bigsby – Jacksonville Jaguars
Bigsby had the best game of his young career in week 5 where he lit up Indianapolis. He had 13 carries which led to 101 rushing yards and found the endzone twice. He also has a 28-yard reception. Tank looked electric out there and Etienne is now dealing with a shoulder issue. As a backup RB Tank has 3 games this season with 73+ rushing yards. In weeks 4 and 5 Tank rushed a total of 20 times for 191 rushing yards. That is nearly 10 yards per carry.
Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones – New York Giants
Believe it or not Jones has been a top 15 fantasy QB this season. He has 3 games with 2 passing TDs and has at least 175+ passing yards in every game. He is always a threat to take off and run, and with the addition of Malik Nabers to target, his appeal is growing. Jones is a good streaming option if your QB has a BYE.
Joe Flacco – Indianapolis Colts
Flacco just won’t go away. The veteran QB started for Anthony Richardson in week 5 and casually threw for 359 passing yards and tossed 3 passing TDs. If that wasn’t enough, Flacco rushed for an additional 22 yards. Keep an eye on Richardson’s health because Flacco’s appeal is only if he plays.
Running Backs
Tyrone Tracy Jr. – New York Giants
Tyrone had a great game in week 5 when he started for Devin Singletary. The rookie RB out of Purdue rushed 18 times for a total of 129 rushing yards. Was definitely a coming out party for Tracy Jr and it is just the beginning. I see his role growing after that performance.
Tank Bigsby – Jacksonville Jaguars

Wide Receivers
Josh Downs – Indianapolis Colts
Since beginning his season in week 3, Josh Downs has gotten better each week. After a lackluster 3 receptions for 22 yards in week 3, Downs has caught 17 of 21 targets for 151 receiving yards and a receiving TD in his last 2 games. Since he started playing this season he has the most targets on the Colts.
Darnell Mooney – Atlanta Falcons
Darnell Mooney has had a great season for the Falcons after a week 1 dud performance. He has 56+ yards receiving in each of his next 4 games and has 3 receiving TDs. Kirk Cousins had averaged 6 targets for Mooney per game after 4 weeks of action. In week 5 Mooney was targeted a whopping 16 times! He caught 9 of those for 105 receiving yards and scored twice.
JuJu Smith-Schuster – Kansas City Chiefs
JuJu had a great week 5 being targeted 8 times. He made the best of those targets by catching 7 of them for 130 receiving yards. JuJu had solid volume with the absence of Rashee Rice. Now the question will be, is this going to be a trend or was this a fluke game? Trust your gut and be aware that the Chiefs have a week 6 BYE. If you can risk the waivers for him, he could pay off as one of Mahomes primary targets.
Tight Ends
Zach Ertz – Washington Commanders
Ertz was targeted a season high 8 times in week 5 but only caught a season low 2 of them. He tied for the lead in targets and what is most appealing is the next 2 opponents for Washington. The Ravens come next followed by the Panthers. Both teams have struggled defending opposing TEs, and the Commanders offense has been the real deal under rookie phenom Jayden Daniels.
