Trade Hub – Week 13

Happy Monday and welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article. I hope your weekend went smoothly and your fantasy team is in a solid position. If not, all we can do is prepare for week 13 and look forward. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.

It’s Monday so we get a MNF game tonight between the Bears and the Vikings. Minnesota has won 5 of their last 6 games while the Bears have won just 3 of their last 5 games. Justin Fields is playing, and it will be against Joshua Dobbs. Both QBs like to use their feet, especially in the red zone. The line favors the Vikings by 3 points with an over/under of 43.5. My prediction is a win for the Vikings 20-17. Dobbs and Fields should both have opportunities to gain rushing yards and rushing TDs. Next week’s MNF matchup is between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It is week 13 so make sure you’re aware if your leagues trade deadline has passed or if you don’t have a deadline depending on the format of your fantasy league. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 13 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Christian Watson – Green Bay Packers

Christian has scored a TD in consecutive games now and Jordan Love seems to be playing some of his best football at the moment. They have a tough test with Kansas City in week 13, but after that is the Giants and then the Buccaneers which favors Christian a lot. Christian looks healthy and like the player he was with Aaron Rodgers late in last season. He has 7 targets in 2 of his last 3 games each and set a season high in week 12 with 94 receiving yards.

Brandin Cooks – Dallas Cowboys

Cooks has been a beneficiary of Daks recent performances and the less than challenging Dallas schedule thus far. Cooks has 4 receiving TDs on the season after catching his most recent in week 12. Brandin has now scored a TD in 4 of his last 6 games and had a monster 173-yard performance in a win over the Giants in week 10. Cooks has always been a reliable WR for every team he has been with throughout his career. Cooks is 2nd to only CeeDee Lamb in receiving yards and receiving TDs.

Davante Adams – Las Vegas Raiders

Adams has had some eye-popping performances this season, but also some head scratchers. Adams last 3 games seemed more characteristic of his normal dominant self. Adams has been targeted 7+ times in all but 2 games all season. If you can get Adams on his BYE week, you should be rewarded with 2 solid games in week 14 and week 15 against the Vikings and Chargers who have defenses that have struggled with opposing WRs.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers

Chuba has been impressive for a RB on the Panthers who was supposed to be behind Miles Sanders in the depth chart. Well, it has been more of a RB committee between the two. Miles had 15 carries for just 28 yards. Chuba had 14 carries for 45 yards and a rushing TD. Hubbard was also targeted 5 times in the pass game and converted all 5 targets into receptions for a total of 47 receiving yards. Chuba sounds more appealing and the schedule coming up isn’t ideal. Try to sell Hubbard while he’s playing well.

Tyler Higbee – LA Rams

Tyler Higbee had a great week 12 in a dominant win over Arizona. He was targeted 5 times and tied his season high with 5 receptions. He may have only gained 29 receiving yards this week, but he found the endzone twice after not scoring the entire season. That’s the good news, the bad news is that he has the Browns defense next followed by the Ravens defense. Both are not ideal for Higbee so it might be time to trade him.

Pat Freiermuth – Pittsburgh Steelers

Welcome back Pat! The TE had 9 receptions for 120 receiving yards on 11 targets. Those are all season highs, and the career high for receiving yards in a game for him. Pat had been injured and just unproductive this season other than the 2 early TDs he scored in the season. Freiermuth has the Cardinals and Patriots next who seems easy but have had success defending opponents TEs. Pat had a great game but this is the best time to sell him.

Rams RT Rob Havenstein (ankle) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 2 against the Titans.
The Rams entered the Week 2 practice week with their right tackle, RG Kevin Dotson and LG Steve Avila nursing ankle sprains. Good news for Matthew Stafford: Havenstein and Dotson have been cleared to play. The Titans' pass rush is hardly a game-wrecker but it's still nice to know that Stafford will have at least four-of-five starters in front of him.

Andrew Van Ginkel Out; Harrison Smith Questionable
The Vikings have ruled Edge Andrew Van Ginkel out for Sunday's game against the Falcons. He's in the concussion protocol off the Monday night win over the Bears. S Harrison Smith is questionable for the game after putting in limited practices all week. Listed with an illness, he said this week he's been dealing with a "physical thing" and trying to get back into game shape. Smith returned to practice ahead of Week 1 after being out since Aug. 11 but missed the Chicago game.
