Trade Hub – Week 4

Another Monday morning! I hope your fantasy team got a W in week 3 but even if they didn’t win, I hope it was still a fun week and we get to start a new one right now. Welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article. Let’s keep the positive vibes going and get ready for week 4. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.

Week 3 is concluding tonight with another 2 MNF matchups including the Eagles @ the Buccaneers and the Rams at the Bengals. A lot of fantasy studs playing tonight including Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Puka Nacua, Joe Burrow, Jamarr Chase, Joe Mixon, etc. The first Game is at 7:15 Eastern and then the second game is at 8:15 Eastern. I like the Eagles by 3 and a huge performance by AJ Brown. In the later game I think the Bengals can sneak out a victory, but it would have to include Jamarr Chase more than ever. My predictions for the scores of these games are Eagles 27 Bucs 20 and Bengals 20-17. Stay healthy everybody.

We are entering week 4 but always make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 3 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Dameon Pierce – Houston Texans

Pierce helped the Texans pull off an upset over the Jaguars. He rushed for 31 yards on 14 carries and caught all 3 of his targets for 28 additional yards. Pierce is now averaging around 13 carries per game, now we just have to give him more running lanes. I think Pierce could be a sneaky player to buy low as he should have better games to come.

Jerome Ford – Cleveland Browns

Ford didn’t have too much luck rushing accruing just 18 yards on 10 carries and in the receiving game he caught 2 of his 3 targets for 33 yards. Ford crossed the end zone twice, one via pass and one via rush. Feels kind of like a RB by committee now but I believe Ford is currently the most fantasy prevalent player in the RB room. You could consider Kareem Hunt to buy but I don’t think it will be worth it. Ford now has 3 TDs on the season though 12 quarters of NFL football.

Austin Ekeler – LA Chargers

So Ekeler was out in week 3 and there are talks of keeping him sidelined until after their early BYE in week 5. If you can find that Ekeler owner frustrated by injury and Kelley not exactly coming close to filling the shoes of Austin, then I say pull the trigger and get a top 2 RB at some sort of discount. Once he returns, he will be a work horse per usual and a TD scoring machine.

PLAYERS TO SELL

DJ Moore – Chicago Bears

The Bears are now 0-3 and it’s got a lot to do with Justin Fields. His stats are a little deceiving because he had 6 receptions for 104 yards in week 2 and then scored a garbage time TD late yesterday. The situation isn’t ideal for Moore, and you don’t want to rely on garbage points because that’s never guaranteed. DJ Moore is a solid sell high because he is a decent name, and you can use his last 2 game logs for persuasion.  Bears get Denver next who should play solid defense after the Miami Massacre that took place yesterday.

Deshaun Watson – Cleveland Browns

Watson looked his best in week 3 not turning the ball over and outperforming his first 2 weeks individual performances. Remember they played the Titans who you can’t run on but passing is open season. Watson will have Baltimore, a bye week, and then the 49ers so I would deal him ASAP if you’re willing or able to. Lamar vs DeShaun on Sunday.

Derrick Henry – Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry, the king, easily had his worst performance in week 3 rushing 11 times for 20 yards. Henry didn’t see a single target and the score was very lopsided. The shocker for me was that rookie Tyjae Spears out snapped Henry 27 to 17. Also, Spears had 4 targets. If Spears is still available in your league don’t hesitate to scoop him up. All Kings reigns have to happen at some point right?

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Buccaneers RT Luke Goedeke (foot) is expected to miss "multiple weeks."
Goedeke came into Week 2's game with a foot injury that he had barely practiced on, then aggravated it in-game and Charlie Heck took over at right tackle. Heck would appear to be the backup plan for the Buccaneers for the forseeable future while Goedeke is out.

Vikings signed QB Desmond Ridder.
Apparently they aren't ready to thrust Max Brosmer into the fire as the main backup despite carrying him as an UDFA. The team will carry four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster while dealing with J.J. McCarthy's high-ankle sprain. Ridder was terrible with the Raiders last year, turning six appearances and one start into a 458/2/2 line while getting sacked on 10.5 percent of his dropbacks. He's still only 26, and now he's in a Kevin O'Connell offense so we may have to care about him, but you'd think we would have seen a real sign of life from Ridder at some point over the last three years if he was going to be a solid NFL backup.
