Happy Monday and welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article. Let’s keep the good vibes going and get ready for week 3. Mike here ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football.
Week 2 is concluding tonight with not 1 but 2 MNF matchups including the Saints @ the Panthers and Browns at the Steelers. Some players I plan to watch in the first game of the night for fantasy purposes include Hayden Hurst, Chris Olave, and Michael Thomas. In the later game it will be interesting to see how the Steelers and Browns approach this game. I like Nick Chubb and George Pickens in this game. Saints are favored by 3 with an over/under of 39.5 and then the Browns are favored by 2 with an over under of 38. I like the under in both these games and prefer the spread in favor of the Saints. I could defiantly see a Steelers win in OT over the Browns in Pittsburgh. My predictions for the scores of these games are a Saints victory by a score of 19-13 and a Steelers victory in OT by a score of 20-17. Lets hope for some fun games to watch and no injuries please.
We are entering week 3 but always make sure you’re aware if or when your league has a trade deadline. Try to sell and/or buy players with strategy and the use of your persuasion and negotiation skills. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 3 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.
PLAYERS TO BUY
Dallas Goedert – Philadelphia Eagles
Goedert set his expectations pretty high for himself in the preseason saying his target would be 1000 receiving yards this season. From 1 target against the Patriots which was not even caught, to now leading the team in targets with 7 and only turning those into 22 yards on 6 receptions. Even in PPR that’s not ideal. AJ Brown is in this boat as well to buy low after an average performance and some possible sideline drama. Both are great buy lows this week as long as you are a believer in the Eagle’s offense which has not showed its dominance like it had been doing all of last season. If you are hurting at TE and want to upgrade, Dallas is a good option based off his history and playmaking abilities and it’s a great time to do so before he starts to get back on track.
Ja’Marr Chase – Cincinnati Bengals
I know what you’re thinking. How the hell am I going to acquire a top 5 WR in Chase. Well, if there was ever a time this might be it to try. Chase has had 2 forgettable appearances in the first 2 games and only has 10 receptions for 70 yards on 17 target combines. Tee Higgins in week 2 alone had 8 receptions for 89 yards and 2 TDs. Even Boyd had more receptions and reception yards than Chase despite equal targets for both Boyd and Higgins. There is no way Chase doesn’t become more productive in the coming weeks and help the Bengals wake up because it seems they’re still a little out of it. Jump on it before it’s too late if it was ever an option in the first place.
Zach Moss – Indianapolis Colts
Moss returned from injury and got to play in Week 2. He had 18 carries for 88 yards and a score to go along with 4 receptions and 19 yards. Moss is RB1 doe the Colts which is why he is a decent buy low options at this moment. However, remember they have Jonathan Taylor who Is filthy when he is healthy and in the game. JT could be back to playing as soon as week 5 which is my only concern for pursuing Moss. But there is also the idea that maybe they will deal Taylor in hopes of a good trade. You can ride the Moss train as much as you want into the near future but be aware of possible consequences and weigh the pros and cons based off your team needs and roster.
PLAYERS TO SELL
Skyy Moore – Kansas City Chiefs
Ok so Moore led the Chiefs in receiving yards yesterday in a 17-9 win over Jacksonville. Depending on how you feel about Skyy will determine whether you are trying to sell high or buy low on him. Last week he was buy low and this week we are selling high. Talented young WR but is on a team where you don’t know who will have a good game other than Kelce. Despite being the receiving yards leader with 70, He was only 1 of 2 pass catchers to score a TD. So 70 yards and a score is exactly what you want from a fantasy WR, so I would take this time to throw some offers out there and sell high while the good times roll. Not saying Skyy can’t keep it up, but I am saying 7 targets over 2 games, and he only caught 3 of those isn’t the best of signs on a team that has many pass catching options. Buy low if you’re a believer and sell high if you don’t wasn’t the possible inconsistency.
Daniel Jones – New York Giants
Jones had himself a 2nd half against the Cardinals yesterday in a huge comeback victory for the G men. He started week 1 with an embarrassing 40 to 0 loss to the Cowboys where he threw 2 INTs. He then took on the Cardinals and posted 321 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, 59 rushing yards, and a rushing TD. Danny dimes can play well, especially when he gets mobile and takes off for chunk yardage. If only the Giants had a few better pass options and not have to rely almost entirely on Saquon Barkley who is currently banged up. Can Jones make this performance a regular thing or did we get fool’s gold knowing he beat the Cardinals in a comeback victory when they were favored all along. Seems like he just escaped one of the worst teams in the NFL. I would sell Jones really quick if you can get a bite before he takes on San Fran, Seattle, Miami, and Buffalo.
Hunter Henry – New England Patriots
Henry has started off the season with back-to-back weeks with a TD for the Patriots. Mac Jones has 4 passing TDs this season and 2 of those went to Hunter. Can we trust the Patriots? Mac Jones? Henry? I say sell him high. Take advantage of the hot start any TE would love to have these days and try to upgrade at another position if you can get a bite. Henry will most likely be in my Waiver Hub as well but if you already own him start thinking about how to deal him for profit.
