NFL DFS: Sunday Night Football Showdown – Titans at Chiefs

The Line: Chiefs -13.5 | O/U 45.5

We have another lopsided matchup and Sunday Night Football with the Titans visiting the Chiefs. It has taken me some extra time to write this article, as I decide if I want my main lineup to be a KC onslaught and how to do that.  KC’s players are all pretty expensive, so who do you leave out?  What I decided to do is a star and scrubs using the Chief’s hottest receiver in the DK Caption spot.

Captain/MVP Picks

Juju Smith-Schuster, KC – WR

Juju has been the hottest receiver on the Chiefs roster, not counting Tight Ends. On Fanduel where you do not have a penalty for Captain, use Kelce or Mahomes.  On DraftKings Juju offers a $5400 discount and he has 25+ DK points and a TD in each of his last 2 games.

FLEX Picks

Patrick Mahomes, KC – QB

The Chief’s offense runs through Mahomes, so he is a must-play especially in Primetime (3-0 this season). Part of my strategy is to use Mahomes in the Flex instead of paying up at Captain on DK.  I expect him and Kelce to be the most own in the Captain slot, so I am pivoting to make a higher octane roster.

Travis Kelce, KC – TE

Kelce is by far Mahomes’ favorite target. Tennessee has a good pass rush so expect a lot of blitz dumps to Kelce.  He aslo leads the league in redzone targets and touchdowns.

Derrick Henry, TEN – RB

As usual, Henry is coming on stronger and stronger as the season stretches into Week 9.  KC is a the bottom of the league in rushing defense and Henry is the offense for the Titans. You will have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to roster him, but it’s well worth it.

Value Pick

Isiah Pacheco, KC – RB

The rookie has impressed Andy Reid and he is getting carries in the game.  In fact last week he technically was the starting running back.  He is first cheap on both sites and could easily steal a TD or break one when it is not expected.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf/rest) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
There's a chance we see McCaffrey pop up with the calf/resting player designation several times throughout the season as the 49ers try to manage his workload and prevent aggravation of his prior calf injury. His limited practice last week had fantasy managers concerned, but he took on a large workload in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Seahawks. Expect McCaffrey to play in Week 2 while continuing to take on a large offensive workload with nearly every other offensive skill player hurt for the 49ers..

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
ESPN's Adam Schefter had reported yesterday that Jennings was "day-to-day" with a shoulder issue. The 28-year-old was hurt in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Seahawks, but and MRI did not show extensive damage to his shoulder. He starts out the week missing practice, putting his status to return immediately for Week 2 in jeopardy. With George Kittle on IR and Brock Purdy likely out, the 49ers are running out of fantasy-relevant offensive players early on in the season.
