NFL DFS: Thursday Night Football Showdown – Colts at Broncos

The Line: Denver -3.5 | O/U 42

This will probably be a boring slog of a game and I expect it to be very low scoring.  Russell Wilson should do well and the Bronco’s Defense should get 3-4 sacks on Matt Ryan.

Captain/MVP Pick

Courtland Sutton – WR, $14,100 (DK), $13,000 (FD)

With Javonte Williams out for the season, and Melvin Gordon having ball security issues, Denver could be relying on the passing game more than ever. Sutton has been Russell Wilson’s favorite target (19 receptions, 291 yards), and Indianapolis has one of the weaker coverage units in the league. Sutton could easily lead all players in fantasy points tonight.

Also Consider: Bronco’s Defense, Russell Wilson

FLEX Picks

Russell Wilson – QB, $15,600 (DK), $16,500 (FD)

Wilson is coming off his best game of the year (237 Yards, 3 TDs), seems to be more in sync with the offense, and will have fumble-prone, Melvin Gordon, in the backfield.  This will be a low-scoring game, but I see all points running through Wilson.  He is a must-play with Sutton as MVP/Captain.

Nyheim Hines – RB, $6,800 (DK), $11,000 (FD)

Hines will assume the lead-back role tonight with Jonathon Taylor ruled out, He will split time, most likely, with Phillip Lindsay.  I expect Hines to be more active in the passing game, and with the weak offensive line of the Colts, he should catch a few dump off passes.

Michael Pittman Jr. – WR, $10,600 (DK), $14,000 (FD)

Pittman does not have the best matchup tonight going against Patrick Surtain, but he is also the only star on the Colts roster.  With Taylor out Pittman will need to step up for Indy to have any chance for a win.

Also Consider: Melvin Gordon

Value Picks

Denver Broncos – D/ST, $4,200 (DK), $10,000 (FD)

The Colt’s offensive line has allowed the 5th most sacks so far this season and they are only allowing an average of 9.5 pts per game at home.  Feel free to roster them in the Captain slot.

Phillip Lindsay – RB, $400 (DK), $7,500 (FD)

Lindsay should be brought up from the practice squad to split time with Hines in the backfield.  He is at the minimum price on DK and he only needs a few yards to make value.  Consider it a punt play to roster more players, but it could be a slate-breaker if other players are not paying attention.
