Trade Hub – Week 4

Welcome back to my weekly trade HUB article! I hope you had a great football filled weekend and are on the cusp of fantasy victory. Mike Hubbard Jr here, ready as always to help you with trade suggestions that can help your chances of winning your fantasy league. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) and Instagram (@fantasyhubbard) for all things fantasy football. Feel free to tweet me or message me on either social media with any comments or questions you might have regarding fantasy football.

Week 3 is coming to a close tonight following MNF. The 1-1 Dallas Cowboys travel to play the New York Giants who are 1 of only 3 teams currently still undefeated. The line is -1 in favor of the Giants and the over/under is set at 39. I know it’s only the end of week 3, but this game almost feels like the fight for 2nd place in the NFC East. Eagles look miles ahead of Washington, New York, and Dallas, but you never know. Look for a lot of Saquon Barkley tonight and see how his play effects the team. Cooper Rush played well enough to win as a backup QB in week 2 and will look to continue that. This game might come down to whose defense makes the bigger plays. My prediction is a 23-16 win for the Cowboys.

Go get strategic and use your persuasion and negotiation skills out in the fantasy football trade market. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 4 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Jerry Jeudy – Denver Broncos

Jeudy started the season with a bang thanks to a big TD play that led to a stat line of 4 receptions for 102 yards and a TD. In the 2 games following week 1, Jeudy has only a combined 3 receptions for 28 yards. Russell Wilson does not look like the chef who once used to cook weekly in Seattle. Jeudy is part of a 1 2 punch with Courtland Sutton. If you think Russ can progress and Jeudy will benefit directly, this is a great time to throw some buy low offers out there. If Sutton were to miss time Jeudy would easily be WR1.

George Kittle – San Francisco 49ers

Kittle made his season debut in week 3 against the Seahawks. What should of probably been a SF win, and a great game for Kittle since Seattle has struggled early against opposing TEs, turned out to be the opposite of all of that. They left Denver with a loss and only 10 total points. Kittle made his presence felt but it only resulted in 28 receiving yards on 4 receptions. Kittle owners everywhere stress over if Kittle will play each week and then when he puts up low numbers it must make matters even more frustrating. Go find that frustrated owner and throw some low offers their way. We know Kittle and Jimmy G have played a lot together over the years so chemistry and trust shouldn’t be an issue. Kittle is a top 5 TE when completely healthy.

DJ Moore – Carolina Panthers

DJ Moore has been targeted 6 times in each of his first 3 games this season. Week 1 he had 3 receptions for 43 yards. Week 2 was identical but add in a TD. Week 3 comes around and Moore only caught 1 of his 6 targets for 2 yards. What could be his worst game of the season is now your best opportunity to buy low on him if you want a WR with upside. He may not be standing out in any statistical categories, but he is the most targeted pass catcher on the team. 2-yard games shouldn’t happen too often or ever really.

D’Andre Swift – Detroit Lions

Swift owners are shook after week 3. How many times can Jamaal Williams vulture Swifts TDs? Jamaal the RB2 in Detroit has scored 4 rushing TDs in 3 games although Swift has 60+ more rushing yards than Williams and Swift has 16 more carries. Swift hurt his shoulder and is already nursing an ankle injury. The near future doesn’t look too bright for Swift, but he should be in line for a great season if those injuries don’t doom him. Expect a lower number of carries and targets and most likely playing time in general for a couple of weeks or possibly miss a game or 2. Swift might not be a buy low option very often so make something happen with the injury’s news and success of Williams.

PLAYERS TO SELL

DeVonta Smith – Philadelphia Eagles

DeVonta Smith had the game of his life yesterday in Washington. The 2nd year Heisman winner out of Alabama caught 8 of his 12 targets for 169 yards and a TD. Those were career highs in target, receptions, and receiving yards. He had only been targeted 10+ times once in his rookie season. Smith has 249 early season receiving yards which puts him on pace to crush his rookie year where he had 916 receiving yards. So, are you a believer that he can stay consistent or are you skeptical knowing AJ Brown is WR1 and the Eagles like to run often? If you own Smith and aren’t sold on the season now is the time to sell him sky high. Aim as high as you can or see what kind of offers come your way.

Devin Singletary – Buffalo Bills

Singletary has yet to have double digit carries this season and before his receiving TD yesterday he hadn’t found the end zone. After 2 forgettable performances Devin had a good game, but it basically all came through the air. He tied Stefon Diggs for targets with 11 and led the team in receptions with 9 and led the team with 78 receiving yards. Devin seems to be hit or miss and like many, his fantasy output is heavily depended on the game flow. Closer games should lead to more opportunities, but how close will games be? If I have Singletary and am not hurting for RBs, I would sell Singletary high as you can in hopes of a more reliable player. Singletary could go on a tear and win leagues, but after 3 weeks it seems less likely.

Jamaal Williams – Detroit Lions

Like I said above in the Swift spot, Williams already has 4 rushing TDs despite being RB2 behind a top 10 RB in the NFL. News just hit that Swift is hurt and could miss some time, but it doesn’t seem too serious. Williams could be in the buy or sell category, but I picked sell simply because he is a walking TD and now that Swift could miss some time, he will be RB1 and get even more chances. Owners are probably licking their lips knowing Williams is a trade target and he gets Seattle next in Detroit. Sell him sky high if you’re willing.

Tyler Boyd – Cincinnati Bengals

Boy oh Boyd. Most have him as WR3 in Cinci behind Chase and Higgins. Bengals also have Mixon at RB who gets plenty of touches. Even with those situations Boyd has managed to find the end zone in all 3 games this season. Week 2 was an end zone catch for a 2-point conversion but week 1 and 3 he scored a TD. Boyd is in a 3 headed attack where they could all go off any time. He is a high reward player on a team that usually is offensively balanced and can score. I would sell Boyd high in hopes of a strong WR2.
