Week 14 is ending tonight following a MNF matchup between the LA Rams and the Arizona Cardinals. Rams are currently 8-4 looking for their 2nd consecutive win while the Cardinals enter Monday at 10-2 looking for their 3rd consecutive win. The NFC West could be a lot tighter after MNF or the Cardinals will have some breathing room atop the entire NFC. The line favors the Cardinals by 2.5 with an over/under of 51.5. My bold prediction is Sony Michel finds the end zone 2 times for LA but take a close loss to the Cardinals by a score of 27-24.
IT’S ALMOST TIME FOR FANTASY FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS!! Most fantasy football leagues trade deadlines have passed, but I know some leagues don’t use a deadline at all so this article is for those who are still able to trade. It’s time to get strategic and use your persuasion and negotiation skills out in the fantasy football trade market. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 15 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.
PLAYERS TO BUY
Russell Wilson – Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson now has 3 consecutive games with 2 TD passes and over 230 passing yards. After his week 15 matchup with the Rams, he gets the Bears and Lions at home for the final 2 weeks of fantasy football playoffs. Wilson has a 99+ QBR in his last 3 games and has completed at least 60% of his passes in each of those games. Russ is starting to cook knowing it’s possible to make the NFL playoffs despite the improbable odds. The Seahawks are starting to get some success on the ground which favors Russ throwing downfield. His connection with Tyler Lockett has been on full display. Buy Russ low if possible and plan on a good playoff run.
Mark Andrews – Baltimore Ravens
Mark Andrews has been elite this season. Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews have been the top 2 TEs in fantasy thus far with a decent sized drop-off after them. Andrews is averaging over 9 targets and 68+ receiving yards in his last 6 games. He also has scored 3 TDs in that time. Even if Lamar Jackson was to miss time since he left week 14 with a sprained ankle, Tyler Huntley quickly made Andrews his favorite target. He finished week 14 catching all 11 of his targets for 114 receiving yards and scored a TD. No matter who the opponent is, Andrews is a top 2 TE every week and especially in the fantasy playoffs. He won’t be cheap, but he is worth buying.
James Robinson – Jacksonville Jaguars
James Robinson has had a bad couple of weeks. He had just 35 total yards in week 13 and lost a fumble. In week 14 he only had 4 rushing yards total. The good news is that James had 6 of the teams 8 rushing attempts and the game flow did not favor Jags RBs. Jacksonville should keep Robinson as their RB1 who gets the Texans in week 15 and then the Jets in week 16. Could be in line for some big numbers in the 1st and 2nd week of playoffs. Buy Robinson as low as you can after his last 2 terrible fantasy outings.
Jaylen Waddle – Miami Dolphins
Waddle has emerged as a great WR in fantasy football. He has been consistent and productive. Waddle has at least 4 receptions in 8 consecutive games and in 11 of 13 games. Waddle also has 6 games with double digit targets and has averaged just under 10 targets per game since week 6. Jaylen and the Dolphins are fresh off a BYE and get the Jets defense in week 15. Waddle is making his case to be the best WR taken in the 2021 NFL draft even after Ja’Marr Chase’s hot start. Buy Waddle if the price is right.
PLAYERS TO SELL
Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys
Dalton is a talented TE on a talented offense. Unfortunately for his fantasy owners, mostly the entire Cowboys offense is talented from QB to WRs to RBs. Dalton had a great opening 6 weeks for Dallas but has since fallen short. Since week 8 he has averaged just over 3 receptions and 32 receiving yards each game with 1 total TD. Too many mouths to feed for the Cowboys. Dalton is always a threat on any pass play, but there have been numerous TEs that have outproduced him since his week 7 BYE. Schultz is coming off a 1 reception for 4 receiving yards game. Although he gets 2 NFC East teams in week 15 and 16, I would try to sell him as high as you can to get a player who you believe could have a bigger impact on your fantasy playoff push.
DK Metcalf – Seattle Seahawks
Metcalf is another player that started the season with great stats and has since been subpar. DK had 8 receiving TDs in his first 8 games, had a week 9 BYE, and hasn’t scored since. In fact, he has only caught 17 of his 36 targets (less than 50%) and averaging just under 35 receiving yards in each game since Seattle’s BYE. Tyler Lockett has picked up the slack for DK, especially with Russel Wilson starting to look like his usual self. Metcalf also has a bad matchup with the Rams in week 15. You might be rewarded with good performances in week 16 (vs CHI) and 17 (vs DET) if you keep him, but I would sell him very high for a top 10 RB/WR to ensure I make it through week 15 first.
Darrel Williams – Kansas City Chiefs
Darrel Williams may have been bumped down the depth chart with CEH healthy and playing well, but he has yet to go away quietly. Williams caught all 3 of his targets in week 14 and scored a receiving TD against the Raiders which he had done in week 10 too. I like selling him high as possible right now in return for a player with more volume. CEH has looked great since his return only solidifying a good workload moving forward. Williams should get his opportunities, but not enough to feel comfortable in the fantasy playoffs.
Marquise Brown – Baltimore Ravens
Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown leads the Ravens in targets, receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs this season with TE Mark Andrews on his heels in every category. Brown has not scored a TD since week 7 and hasn’t exceeded 55 receiving yards in a game since week 9. He gets a tough Packers secondary in week 15 after looking like the 3rd pass catching option for backup QB Tyler Huntley. Brown was a great deep threat for Lamar Jackson earlier this season but that seems to have dissipated. Sell Brown as high as you can for a player who has been playing better recently and has a favorable fantasy playoff schedule.
