Week 13 is ending tonight following a MNF matchup between the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills. 1st place in their division and possibly the entire conference is on the line. The line currently favors the Bills in Buffalo by 3 with an over/under of 41. I am expecting a low scoring game that will be won on defense. My bold prediction is the Patriots win 20-16. The Patriots defense causes multiple turnovers leading to easier offensive possessions and maybe even a defensive TD. Dawson Knox and Damien Harris each find the end zone.
Most fantasy football leagues trade deadlines have passed, but I know some leagues don’t use a deadline at all so this article is for those who are still able to trade. It’s time to get strategic and use your persuasion and negotiation skills out in the fantasy football trade market. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 14 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.
PLAYERS TO BUY
Dallas Goedert – Philadelphia Eagles
Goedert had a career high 105 receiving yards yesterday against the Jets. He also had his first ever 2 TD game. It was Gardner Minshew throwing the ball to him instead of Jalen Hurts due to injury. No matter who is QB, Goedert is a reliable pass catcher on the Eagles. Him and DeVonta Smith are the best options in the pass game and Smith has been very inconsistent. After the Eagles week 14 BYE, Goedert gets the WFT twice and the Giants once for fantasy playoffs. Buy low and have a top TE for your playoff run.
Jaylen Waddle – Miami Dolphins
Don’t look now but the Dolphins have won 5 games in a row and Waddle has a lot to do with it. Even with a healthy Mike Gesicki and DeVante Parker, Waddle caught 9 of his 11 targets for 90 receiving yards. Waddle has over 60 receiving yards in 7 of his last 8 games and he leads the Dolphins in targets, receptions, and receiving yards this season and it’s not very close. Waddle gets a week 14 BYE followed by games against the Jets, Saints, and Titans for fantasy playoffs. Go trade for Waddle if you can manage your lineup with his BYE.
Tony Pollard – Dallas Cowboys
Tony Pollard is arguably an RB1 if he wasn’t on the Cowboys behind Zeke. Even being 2nd on the depth chart, Pollard has had an impactful season and turned out to be a fantasy football steal. Pollard makes the most of his opportunities including in week 13 where he rushed for 71 yards on 7 carries and scored 1 rushing TD. The Cowboys know that Pollard needs more touches and not just on 3rd down. He has averaged over 4 receptions each game the last 4 weeks and averages 50 rushing yards each game for the entire season. Buy Pollard low as possible in time for some favorable NFC East matchups.
Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys
Dak had an okay week 13 throwing for 238 yards and 1 passing TD in a win over the Saints. When Dak is on his game, he is a top 5 fantasy QB, especially with all the weapons around him. He has multiple TD passes in 8 of the 11 games he has played in. Dak has a few NFC East matchups coming his way where he should be able to not only hold his own but excel. Could be a season winning acquisition.
PLAYERS TO SELL
Michael Pittman – Indianapolis Colts
Michael Pittman has certainly passed the eye test this season and has become the favorite target for Carson Wentz. One cause for concern is that the Colts have Jonathan Taylor who has triple digit rushing yards in 7 of his last 10 games and has 16 rushing TDs (at least 1 in 10 consecutive games). The offense clearly runs through Taylor and that should continue because no one has been able to stop him. Pittman has a week 14 BYE and then has a tough fantasy playoff start against the Patriots followed by the Cardinals. I would sell Pittman high in hopes for a player with more volume and targets.
Ezekiel Elliot – Dallas Cowboys
Zeke has had a great year. He is RB1 for Dallas and gets a good number of snaps each game. He does have Pollard breathing down his neck, who has been outplaying Zeke. There have been talks of getting Pollard more chances and letting Zeke get some rest prior to the playoffs. Since week 8, Elliot hasn’t eclipsed 51 rushing yards in a game, and only surpassed 25 receiving yards once in the same time frame. Zeke is starting to be TD dependent. He does have a great schedule upcoming, but Pollard is getting chances and you could possibly get a top 5 RB if the deal works. Try selling high but proceed with caution.
Kyle Pitts – Atlanta Falcons
Pitts is going to be an elite TE for years to come. He has shown glimpses of what he can do, and the future is bright. Unfortunately, he is on the Falcons who have been lost this season. Pitts has been fairly quiet since his back-to-back 100+ receiving yard games in week 5 and 7. Since week 8 Pitts has averaged 3 receptions and under 40 receiving yards per game. Pitts also has only scored 1 TD in his rookie campaign back in week 5. Sell Pitts high for someone who has a better target to reception ratio or someone that reaches the end zone more regularly.
DeAndre Hopkins – Arizona Cardinals
Hopkins returned to action in week 13 along with his QB Kyler Murray. He caught both of his 2 targets for 32 receiving yards and 1 TD. That was his 8th TD this season in 9 games played. DeAndre has not had a game with over 9 targets and has yet to reach 90 yards receiving in any game. Hopkins scoring is what has saved his reputation as an elite WR. In week 13 Murray targeted 8 different players and none of them had more than 3. The Cardinals ran the ball 35 times and only had 15 passing attempts. Hopkins health is always a concern so why not sell him sky high based off his 8 TDs and his well-known name.
